Honoring our U.S. Military in Halo....

I know that Halo is a global game, and that H5 is more globally played than any other previous Halo title - at least it seems that way. With that in mind, it may not work to do something like this but I think it would be amazing.
I think it would be neat if we could honor those gamers that serve in our United States Military! I am not former military myself, but I have several friends that have made the sacrifice and a family member too. I am not sure if there is a sure-proof way to prove on a forum that somebody is former or current military, but if there is a way to do so - it would be awesome if Waypoint could give those Men and Women a special badge to display on their forum profile. What do you guys and girls think? Also a special Emblem on H5 to go along with that OR a special weapon skin for the AR or BR or Pistol.

Just a thought, but a pretty stinking good one. What do you all think?

How about instead of just the U.S military all military members from any country will get it. That way its not like the game is going Pro-America! since the community is filled with members from a variety of countries.

Like the idea

ID would probably be easiest. Military gets a special ID for being military or retired. Even direct family gets their own IDs. I’m not sure about other countries though.

I respect the thought but I doubt many military members would use it. Plus I doubt many would go through a verification process for an emblem, not to mention the security issues.

It would be cool if they did something and gave it to everyone that way you can show your support if you want to.

Something like this exists already - it’s a military coin. Pretty rare, you can only get them at launch at certain bases / areas although some sel theirs on ebay. Look up the Halo 5 Guardians coin for more info

No there shouldn’t,
1.Just why, it’s a halo game! (Seriously who cares) , I go to memorials for that!
2.To much work for no reason , nice idea but no chance of getting it

I’m currently in the Army have been for the past 5 years. I’m an Infantryman and I would wear whatever 343 gave us if it was cool enough. Maybe my emblem from reach, it was the sharingan from naruto. I have an emblem that kinda looks like an Eternal Mangyeko Sharingan. I’m not pushing for the special treatment though we already have our own day but it’d still be neat.

This would be cool. i have have played the halo series since the beginning and its gotten me through 2 deployments and some tough times. im retired now and just happy this game is still around. the halo series always brings back memories good/bad, but damn it puts a smile to my face playing.

You can only obtain it if you buy your game on base (US only). Bungie did it and still does it, didn’t know about 343.

I understand the sentiment, but it is not something we should push for in a video game.

Anybody can buy a coin online or in a store. Not solid proof. I’ve encountered more than one faker in my 26 years of military service.

Not sure what you mean, I’m talking about a coin that is only available on certianly military bases. You can only buy the coins at the launch of a Halo game - like this

Law Enforcement should also get the same treatment, as well. They get geared up and put their lives on the line every day to face the unknown of what awaits them just to lose time with their family due to rotating shifts, be given terrible benefits, low pay, and then be spat on and hated by the community they serve…on second thought, most wouldn’t want to display something like that online. Why endure the hate on the streets and then come home to endure it some more online when you are just trying to relax? Scratch that idea.

You keep speaking about globally yet only want to honor 1 contries military, why not them all?

That’s why I thought a lot of military wouldn’t use it but law enforcement is definitely a better example.

Yeah definitely could be a security issue too, especially for some MOS’s

because 343 is based in the USA, because the USA is the best country in my opinion (otherwise I wouldnt live here), because without the USA, there would be no Halo or XBOX… because… MURICA!

It already has. Have you not seen the American Flag/Bald Eagle Assault Rifle skin?
