Honestly, we deserve more compensation don't we?

I think at this point that we deserve more from 343i.
It has been more than 3 months since release. The one ranked playlist is a joke, as you don’t get paired with similar levels, which completely takes the “ranked” experience anyway.
My friends and I can only search in H2A, Team Slayer and Halo 3 to find games. I have searched big team for 5+ hours just to not find a single player (I have tried this several times).
The initial compensation offered by 343 on December 19th is appreciated, even though it may not be what I really wanted (I really just want a H2A map pack for free or something). But, it has been nearly two whole months since then.
So, the question now is, what do we get for the other two months that we have been denied full access to our purchase?
I know my situation may be worse than specifically American players ('cos from what I’ve seen you guys can search most if not all playlists successfully), and if that’s the case and I can’t get said compensation, I understand.
But I think at this point we really do deserve more, once the game works.
What do you guys think?

I just want to know how they’re gonna revive the population after/if this is all fixed. Another wave of compensation would be nice though. Probably won’t be anything major.

I agree, the players should be getting more out of what happened, and only the ones who suffered through the launch get them, which is -Yoink- in my opinion.
Relic is the only thing other players get, ODST and the One Month is only for those who bought the game and played it day one, otherwise if you played it safe, you don’t get a thing beside a map, which in my opinion is very -Yoink- to do to fans.

I think we should get an entire map pack for free or the next DLC that comes out should all be free from here on out.

I completely agree. It’s been two months since Bonnie Ross wrote that letter and the state of the game has not improved substantially since then. We’ve also gotten a severe cold shoulder from 343 Industries since then. Weekly updates on the game’s state became monthly. Patches went from marginal improvements to almost nothing. It’s unacceptable. It’s been three months since the game launched. I can understand why we got such little word on what was happening in the first month after disaster struck, as it seemed clear that they were rushing around to fix the game. It’s been three months now, though. We’ve given them plenty of time and space to get organized. No competent company would have completely failed by this point to develop, first of all, a list of priority fixes and, second, a solid timeline; three months after this disaster, that stuff should be in place. It’s just mind-boggling that we, as consumers, still have gotten no word on whether or not they will actually fix this product.

We deserve better. The full Halo 3: ODST would be cool. A complete map pack for Halo 2: Anniversary would also be acceptable. Either way, it damn well better be accompanied by a very sincere apology from this studio and a completely rock solid timeline for the repair of this game. They can’t convince that, at this point, they are incapable of providing that.

As awesome as that would be, it’s all down to Certain Affinity and what they can manage to work out. Originally they thought they could only manage to get 4 maps created for the multiplayer due to the time it takes to make them

Well, that’s what pushing the game back is for, to make sure EVERYTHING works out just fine and that everything is finished, lately these games suffer because of these “deadlines”

My god. We don’t deserve anything other than a functional game. Compensation = 343’s white flag. They need to fix the game damn, not try to make People forget about the debacle with “compensation”.

Yes we need another wave of compensation for sure and something MUCH better than the previous compensation. Most important is to fix TMCC.

As for recovering the population, I don’t even think that is possible any more unless they release this game for free. That is the ONLY possible way to recover the population. But the game needs to be fixed first before even considering giving TMCC away for free. Otherwise all they will do is make even more people angry. The main 100% focus should be on fixing TMCC. Period. Do not release ODST, do not even think of releasing Halo 5. Fix TMCC first.

And when I say FIX the game I mean these top 5 priorities must be fixed out of the 7 I listed.

  1. Dedicated Servers.
  2. Much more stable BTB.
  3. Much more stable party system.
  4. Trueskill ranked playlists that work properly and match you with players of your skill level.
  5. Working audible beep count down on the map vote screen.
  6. Automatically kick players that are AFC (away from controller) for more than 3-5 minutes
  7. JIP (Join in progress at least in BTB).

What we deserve is a working freakin’ video game that we paid for, not the cluster-f that is still just as screwed up as it was 2 months ago when Bonnie said “lol, sorry dudes, we will fix it for ya”

I honestly don’t believe that there’s any viable reason 343 Industries couldn’t splinter off some of their own workforce or even contract another company to construct said maps. It’s not like the teams would have to actually design the maps - they’re already built and exist in the original Halo 2. All that has to happen is for the maps to be updated and optimized for the slight tweaks to the sandbox in Halo 2: Anniversary. Yeah, that is a lot more work than I’m making sound like - but it’s still not like creating a pack of all-new original maps. It’s also a very low risk way to attract players back into the game; the developers have their pick of the classic Halo 2 maps. They can bring back a pack of fan favorites and be confident that the pack would be well-received.

Bottom line: It’s worth it to invest in this game and this population in this way. The fact that they’re even remaking Relic tells us this.

I believe they should release a H2A map pack. I know Ivory Tower should have been above Warlord on the list.

The best compensation they could give us is those darned dedicated servers they praised so much.

Indeed.

We’re already playing on them most of the time. They’re not that great.

The only compensation I need is the MCC to work properly. That’s all I want.

But sadly, that probably won’t happen for a while.

I’m not sure what servers you are playing on, but I would guess that 95% of my games are P2P servers. Funny when you join in a game and then the host rage quits and the game ends. Dedicated servers? I think not. How about when you play H2C, you and 6 other players BR’s and sniper shots are absorbed, but that one person either on your team or the other can BR/Snipe across the map. I laugh at the idea that these are dedicated servers. H5 beta had dedicated servers, not MCC.

That’s what I’ve been trying to say, only to have people tell me “It works on my Xbox”.

Or or and here is the crazy part. Maybe 343 could.

Get this

Could…

could!
*Make some of their own content for their own game!*Its mind boggling right? To assume a game with their name on the box would actually develop something for it! Crazy right! I for one would love to see this concept flushed out. A company actually developing their own multiplayer. Simply staggering idea.

honestly i dont care about getting free xbox live months, i dont really care about maps (although it seems like their idea is to release more h2a maps as paid packs). like someone said above, all i want is the game to work and the TEAMS TO BE EVEN

the only ‘compensation’ that i would ever look for is when (IF) this is all fixed and working, someone comes out and explains what the problem was. being realistic i know this will never happen, because what are they going to say, ‘yeah, we rushed the game, we never really tested it, no one here knows how xbox one parties work on live, etc etc…’?

Initially I would have agreed with you. I didn’t care about compensation, I just wanted the game to work.
But, we’ve been waiting a long time for the game to work. All I’m saying is that they are compensating us for the initial month of release, but are kind of hanging us out to dry for the rest of the time until it’s fixed, it seems.
I think it would be fair for them to give us free Xbox live for however long it takes them to fix it, at least. I know people who bought Xbox’s just for this game, and pay for Xbox live just to play MCC.
Believe me, I’m not just trying to milk 343 just because I can. All I’m saying here is that we do deserve something else, whether it’s the money that we’ve spent waiting for them to make CU’s refunded, in the sense of free Xbox Live time, or something more substantial.
And I’d like to reiterate, I don’t care about compensation until the game is fixed, I just don’t think it should be ignored completely
One last thought: I don’t think compensation could make anyone forget about MCC’s problems. They are glaringly obvious to say the least, and no matter of compensation could make me personally forget about them in any way.
