Grifball - Fiesta - Big Team Battle - Upcoming InfectionBut what is the desire to have Social Slayer, Snipers (should be ranked), and the various other weekend playlists we’ve had? The big reason they were beloved in past Halo’s was because of couch coop. Having up to four people on one console and able to play online was a tremendous amount of fun. I’m just really curious as to why people think it would be like the days of old now. The biggest thing 343i could do to make for a more relaxed environment for players is to create matchmaking party restrictions to ensure like-sized teams play each other.
Hopefully we’ll all get a good selection of playlists after the DLC train stops and 343i moves on to the next installment.
TL;DR Just a curious Spartan looking to optimize variety.
Because some people want to actually enjoy the game and not have to constantly try their hardest to play it. No one likes loosing, but if you loose in something like Fiesta or in Social Slayer the burn feels a little easier.
Party restrictions are brilliant, I would like to play team games against just other people searching solo (most of my friends play different games) ^ I also agree with the guy who says the burn and pressure to be a try-hard are lessened comfortably when playing social modes.
Because not everyone likes to tryhard all the time. I’m a pretty competitive FFA player but I’d still like to be able to sit back and play a match without having to worry about my rank.
But the point of social is completely nullified by the fact it goes towards your W/L and K/D stats, so I don’t really care about social in Halo 5 anymore.

That’s a big point. Zero stats should be counted in social playlists.
I guess the social playlists make it feel more competitive for me because I’ll get lumped with other solo casual players and we’ll be up against a full fire team. So the only difference between ranked and social now is the bronze - champion rating that gets reset every season. I also think they should move BTB back to ranked. It was horrible when it began because there were very few maps for it. But now it should be diverse enough.

Definitely. The only tension is others spartan charging people at the REQ station I think Firefight will be very solid when it gets polished later this year.
I am consistently ranked as a platinum level player. My friends, however, are much later adopters of Halo 5, and as such are not nearly as good at it. If we play ranked playlists together, more than likely they’ll be ranked too high for their own good, and then be stuck in level too intense for them, suckig the fun out of multiplayer. It’s just nice to have smaller scale playlists where we can play together without either of us worrying about our rank being skewed.

In case you didn’t know, Platinum level players are mediocre at best. Diamond and Onyx players are above average and skilled, while Champions are very above average players who destroy people.
Some people get tired of Try-hards screaming after every death over their kinect mics snd quitting a game because they start losing and cannot lose their precious rank so they need a safe haven without Try-hards.
That said 343 did a horrible job at implementing Social Playlists so they are pretty much just kill boosting playlists :^)

You’re going to start a riot if you keep on talking this way
If you really think about it, the only real difference between social and ranked is the name. If you want to have a nice time and screw around in either game type nothing will happen to you. Yeah you’re rank will go down but if you don’t really care and game socially ranks won’t matter too much I suppose
