Im getting tired of getting screwed over and over when trying to rank up. Each time I begin to win several games in a row, I get matched with people who are ranked 10+ higher than me. Examples that actually have happened to me: In doubles, Im a gold 6, got matched with a Champion, Onyx, and Diamond 4. So now Im stuck in Gold 6 and each time I start winning I get owned by a Champion / Onyx and knocks my rank back down to Gold 6. It makes no sense. Im no smurf so why am I getting screwed over like this over and over? Cant I just play in Gold 6 and play people in Gold rank until I get plat. 343 really needs to fix this serious ranking issue that effects honest players and stop concerning themselves with preventing smurfs / boosters b/c people are going to find a way around that anyway.

I feel like match making is more broken than usual tonight. It’s like it’s putting all the higher ranked players together on one team and all lower/unranked players on the other.
The issue kinda has less to do with the matchmaking system itself and more to do with the skill of a given population in a playlist searching at a given time. If there are no other Golds (or Plats, as you’d be able to match with them) or very few to make a complete match, the system eventually gives up searching for people close to your skill level after a certain amount of time (60+ seconds usually) and starts expanding outward. That’s when you might end up in matches with higher skilled players.
If the game didn’t do that right now, you’d probably be waiting forever and ever for a match that might never happen. So, to answer your question, no, it’s not just you. But not because the system isn’t doing what it’s supposed to.

I much rather not be matched at all than get owned by Champions, I would just then switch to another playlist.
