not sure how I feel about it
good:
-
over all visual style, pretty good, a step in the right direction - music: very reminiscent of Halo CE - enemy designs: look like classic halo (except the brute’s face, too similar to the gross brute from reach) - weapon designs (pt 1): some look like classic style weapons, and some new ones look like they would fit in the classics - open world: been waiting a long time for this, not disappointed - Grappling hook: functions better than I expected it to. not flying across the map like titanfall, more like the grappling hook from the batman games. also the fact that it can latch onto enemies and allow the player to throw fusion coils was awesome. while I do have some concerns about it being in multiplayer, im not too worried, because I highly doubt that its going to be in multiplayer. Instead, I think this will be a campaign-only (and co-op mode) mechanic.not so good:

weapons (pt 2): some weapons look like they’re from other games. that large brute weapon looks like something the cabal from destiny would use, and the new human rifle looks like a combination of the marksman rifle from Resistance and the carbine from Titanfall. - gameplay: kind of bummed, but not at all surprised, but not entirely disappointed either. while I’d like for the return of classic gameplay, I am aware that halo would remain with this more faster paced gameplay. Infinite being an open world game would actually need these more modern movement mechanics, or else traversing the landscape would take much longer. while we did see sprint, slide, and that new grappling hook. we did not see clamber, thrusters, ground pound, and the game breaking spartan charge (thank goodness). we also see the return of the equipment system from halo 3, but I’m not sure how well that will flow with the modern gameplay and the grappling hook. Fortunately, it appears to be a step back from halo 5’s mechanics. but I was so hoping for classic gameplay.
I feel like this game is going to be extremely good, but just not not the game we were expecting
I’ve already seen people calling 343 liars. They didn’t lie about anything, not once did they say that we were getting classic gameplay (really wish they did though) or definitively going back to halo 3. all we’ve seen and heard regarding infinite up to this point is its art style.
