Holy ****, I fixed 1-50. Take notes FRANKIE!

> Issue one: Boosting
> This is done by creating an account and losing on purpose, then with your terrible win to loss record you can boost a new account all the way to level 50 in as little as 20 games. This creates easy 50’s as well as creating a LOT of derankers.
>
> The fix:
> All you have to do to completely eliminate the problems with this form of boosting is to make a tweak to trueskill. Make it so that your team mates don’t influence your leveling process and this problem is 100% COMPLETELY eliminated.

> Issue two: Selling accounts
> This problem comes from a few things, one the difficulty of getting a 50, but more importantly how your skill based rank in Halo 2 and 3 was your PRIMARY rank or tied to your primary rank. In other words you can’t rank up unless you get better.
>
> The fix:
> Make 1-50 completely separate from your primary rank. Make it have no influence on any rank, it should only be used as a way to measure your skill. Also, it should be INVISIBLE to everyone but yourself.

Some of you might not like the idea of 1-50 being invisible to everyone but yourself, but let me say two things: First, this is coming from someone who was a level 40 in Halo 2 and who has 8 50’s in Halo 3. I know the appeal of a visible skill based rank, but I have also spent SIX YEARS knowing everything BAD that comes with a visible skill based rank, Frankie has legitimate arguments. Second, making it invisible to everyone but yourself will still give you the visual representation of your skill and the incentive to work at getting better and winning. It will also get rid of the incentive to manipulate trueskill through boosting cheating selling accounts, etc…and that is the name of the game here.

To Frankie: Tell me how this won’t work to satisfy the competitive community who wants a 1-50 while fixing the problems with 1-50. Do NOT throw out 1-50 without seriously considering how to fix it, as it isn’t that hard.

We can only hope Frankie will pass by this and actually listen to his competitive gamers
