does anyone have one? im just looking for some tips . and i dont want to use the OP DMR. imo light rifle for the win
LightRilfe for the win indeed. It’s my favorite weapon on my player card :).
I use holos every now and then, much more convincing and easier to trick people with. I can’t give you a wall of text but i’ll try to help.
-Deploy when you know someone is going to come around the corner, they’ll shoot the Hologram (since it turns red when aimed out) or waste a grenade. Use this opportunity to strike back at the distracted enemy and get the kill.
-Use it Sparingly. What this means is don’t spam or the players you use it against will be on to you and the effectiveness of the Holograms is reduced greatly. If this ever happens, switch to another loadout to throw your opponent off (a tactic underused in loadout shooters).
-While i have never used it as such, you can probably trick an unaware player and get an Assassination (though this requires great timing).
-Holograms are also a great scouting tool. You see that guy with the rockets or Sniper? You can trick him/her to wasting ammo by deploying the Hologram. Most players usually charge into the open and are killed in such situations. Most use Ammo i know but that’s one less shot they can get a kill with.
Hologram with grenade enhancing upgrades is great. Send a holo out so someone around a corner is fooled, then lob grenades with the upgrades to help you out. In terms of weapons, the lightrifle would work well. Also consider using Firepower and setting an automatic as secondary, once again to help with those around-the-corner encounters. You will tear any DMR user up with a storm rifle (or other auto) after you fool them with a hologram.
When you are walking in a straight line and you see an enemy on the radar. Stop moving, and at that precise moment activate your hologram. This way only one dot will be on the enemies radar and they will think that you walking straight into their trap.
AR
Magnum
Hologram
Resupply
Dexterity
That’s what I use.
Oh, and frags.
^ Resupply is interesting but i found something out in one of my tests.
Unlike Scavenger (in COD), which guarantees you a resupply after every kill, Resupply doesn’t work that way.
The mod says it lets you pick up grenades off dead foes and enemies. Heres the kicker though; If they have spent their supply of grenades, then you won’t receive any you’re self.
It’s just something to know when using Resupply if you choose to use ^.^.

I noticed that while playing, but thanks for letting the other people know. I like resupply just because bouncing 5 grenades down a hallway clears the room.
Holo is my favourite AA, send it through the man cannon on adrift, fools people all the time. This is especially useful in ctf matches to flush out flag campers. You have to aim it as far away as possible though otherwise it will double back when it lands.
I have holo for every loadout except the loadout for spartan ops, that’s auto sentry.
Use the hologram on lifts.
You can use it visually, like grab the sword and send sword holos running into occupied areas, EVERYONE loves sword holos
Big distraction.
You can put it standing right around a corner you know someone is at and crouch behind it for a slight advantage.
And you can use it for radar tricks. If you’re a boltshotter, shotty, hammer, ANYTHING really. Wait till you see a dot coming, get behind a corner and send your holo running away from you. Hold your position.
If it works, they’ll think the coast is clear or start the chase… AND walk/drop right into you. wham bam thank you mam.
And like the fellow above said. Tossing it into lifts is just plain old fun. Remember that it doesnt turn solid for a few steps after you launch it.
lol i know this is old but… anymore tips? a specific loadout would help.
The Assault Rifle and Hologram go really well together, especially on Dominion.
You can be really sneaky with the hologram, one way to lure anyone into a trap is to use the hologram to tbag someone on their team. People get pissed.
ill try out the assault rifle for it. should i equip firepower or mobility. or something else? i think one of my faults is that i deploy it too much and in the wrong situations. when should i deploy it?
I use the hologram almost exclusively, I’ve been using on the Majestic Maps a lot. I tend to use it in conjunction with an AR or BR.
I like to send it out an crouch and lure enemies in, then either assassinate them or AR them down in close range.
I enjoy sending it out when I feel cornered or someone is following me, it allows me to slip away while the player chases after my hologram.
Thanks guys, anyways I’m still open for more tips.
BR
Magnum
Sticky Nades
Hologram
Unlimited Sprint
Dexterity
That’s my Hologram loadout, it works pretty good. I mostly use the Hologram to check corners to see if I’ll be shot the second I come around the corner, or if I get into a 1v1 I’ll throw out the decoy to try to throw off the enemy for a second, I only need to fool him once and he’s done. The latter tactic usually works well for me if I jump from a higher level to a lower level, I will throw out the decoy as I jump down and the enemy usually can’t tell which one is me right away so it gives me a second to collect myself and regroup. Oh, and I also use the t-bag feature if I get a good, solid kill.
Hologram is my most favorite AA.
My typical loadout:
Primary/Secondary/Grenades changes based on what commendations I’m earning, but Ordinance Priority and Dexterity are typically the tack packs and upgrades I use.
Best tips for using Hologram:
It’s a great scout. Put a hologram ahead of you when coming up on a room or hallway or blind spot and watch where the enemy fire comes from. They fall for it all the time. This is a great way to avoid teh horrorz of boltshot!
If you’re moving, then be sure to stop just as you release the hologram. Watching two dots diverge on the radar is a dead giveaway to the enemy.
Remember, the hologram is bait, so you need to release it, let the enemy react to it, then you counter
thanks for the tips and loadouts
I use the Hologram all the time and this thread is full of great ideas. Misty the Hologram is my visible friend and he saves my life on a regular basis.
My Hologram Loadouts:
DMR/Plasma Pistol/Frags/Explosives/Resupply
BR/AR/Sticky/Firepower/Dexterity
The hologram has 2 main uses. Drawing initial fire and fooling the enemy’s motion tracker.
The best thing to practice is how to capitalize quickly when the hologram runs around the corner and draws that first shot. Good players are only fooled for a second so you have to act fast.
When to use the Hologram:
-Before going around a corner or through a doorway, especially if you see the enemy’s red dot disappear on the other side. You can plasma stick Boltshot campers all day long now.
-Out into the open when the enemy has rockets, snipers, or any other power weapon.
-Right in front of your team mates if you suspect they are charging into enemy fire. You can really help out your friends this way.
-Whenever you rush a base, hill, or flag.
-In the opposite direction if you are bravely running away.
