Hold your hype.

After the long wait, we will finally going to see what “Halo 6” really is in a couple of days, and I understand your hype and your impatience completely, but hear me out: low your expectations just a little bit.

I’m no one to tell you how to feel about something you care about, but I’m saying by experience, I was extremely hyped for Halo 5, I tought the game would be GOTY levels, the most incredible “hunt for the truth” in gaming history, the final showdown between Locke and Master Chief, who’s right? Who’s wrong? What definitive choices they will have to make?
Well, as you know, things didn’t quite go the way I was expecting in any way. It got me angry and then sad, that I just felt personally betrayed by all the faith I gave to the game and it didn’t corresponded me back. Luckly the multiplayer was gorgeous, so it still got me invested in this abusive relationship with Halo 5.

And I’m seeing in this forums, in social media people commenting and reminding every minute they can’t wait to see Halo Infinite. Even 343 themselves are estimulating this hype train. But I beg you: keep your expectations low.

  • First reason is no one knows what Halo Infinite is, we have no idea what this game is about, we haven’t seen anything concrete yet. - Second thing is you will be disappointed no matter what happens, period. Halo Infinite is like a miracle and an impossible task, 343 cannot please everyone because this community is so diverse and attached to Halo that even if you like everything you see, something, the slightiest tiny detail that only you gives it the attention will not be the way you wanted and you will be disappointed. And I suspect this game will make a bold decision to the Halo franchise moving forward that will probably divide the community once again with the pros and cons with infinite discussions online. It just can’t be perfect, it can’t please everyone.Once again, go with reasonable expectations because the bigger the hype the bigger the fall.

I’m not hyped as much as I am curious to see what they’ll do with it.

I and many others did not like 5’s gameplay at all yet a lot of people did. After seeing Bonnie Ross like the tweet about a hybrid version of Halo 3’s and Halo 5’'s gameplay being the way to go makes me really nervous, so I’m curious as to how they plan on satisfying the two sides of the playerbase. If they pull it off it’ll be great but if they don’t it’ll be catastrophic for the franchise.

I just want Halo to be loved again.

This is just generally good advice.
I’m excited, but careful. So far, it looks like 343 listened to what people said about the disconnect between H5 marketing and the end product. It looks like the teasers that we got are much more representative of the game that we will get to play.

Yes, I’m also curious, but I’m not letting the curiosity turn into excitement and blind my reasoning.

I would not look into this tweet discussions that far. I’m predicting a mix between the two is likely to happen, but this is dangerous because if 343 go one inch to a more “classic” approach, people will get upset and if they go one inch to a more “modern” approach other people will get upset, so this is why I’m saying, there’s such a thin line for all this hype turn into absolute rage and madness.

NOPE the hype train has left my station, and I’m on board!! Full speed ahead!!

Yep. Got my ticket… toot toot. Clear the station we are coming in hot!

My hype has been in the Mega Construx sets. Not necessarily because of potential leaks for Halo Infinite, but because they did a really good job on the Elite Ultra, and Brute Warrior mini figures.

Otherwise that, I’ve been trying to keep a sceptical mind without being critical. All I can say as far as the game goes, is I’m excited to find out why they’ve been so passionate about keeping it a secret for so long.

I’m kind of a more skeptical one right now after halo 5 it could go wrong but so far its great so my hype grows higher

I just want to see if I will be disappointed or happy

I guess you’ll be both. Even if you like it for the most part, one little thing will throw you off and I think that’s fine and totally part of being a Halo fan.

The past decade has made me a master of low expectations.

Unfortunately I suspect we learned it throuth the hard way. Once we deal with the trauma I guess it is healthier for us all not to build expectations on games or even movie franchises. Yes, that one!

When i saw Spartans snowboarding down a mountain, i knew something was wrong with Halo 5. I haven’t had any red flags with Halo Infinite’s marketing (or lack thereof) so far.

I’m hyped for 343i to show us the game, not hyped for the game itself (not yet at least). Of course i hope the game will be good too.

If the game looks good on the 23rd, but it launches like trash later this year, then i’ll be disappointed. If it looks bad on the 23rd, no real loss, i’ll just go back to the games i love on the MCC.

I’m not hyped, as I haven’t enjoyed (truly enjoyed) a Halo game since Reach, which I felt told an excellent story, retained Bungie’s excellent gunplay and physics engine, and introduced my favorite faction design, the UNSC Army.

That being said, I’m certainly interested in seeing what the game is like. I’m a huge Halo fan, and I know this is a Halo board, so what I’m going to say is certainly unpopular, but I would have been fine with them ending the series with Reach and taking all the money and talent at 343 and giving us one or two killer new IPs instead of trying to keep Halo afloat. If Infinite is historically excellent, if it’s a game that can rival the excitement of, say, Spider-Man or The Last of Us II on PS4, then a job well done, I say. I just don’t expect that.

Nope. I will be hyped and no one can stop me. If it doesn’t release perfectly, it sounds like the new engine will be easy to integrate changes.

This will be my first Day 1 Halo… I’m going to experience the rollercoaster of emotions for better or for worse.

Considering how Halo 5 went down and all the disappointment that surrounds that game, I wish I could just hold back my hype and excitement for this game and have a more cautious approach but I just can’t. My hype levels are at max and I’ve been dying to finally see this game in action

Just a few more days, friends!

I hope everything goes well for you, I highly doubt the game will be perfect, bacause as I said earlier, perfection cannot be achieved without a little bit of sacrifice from ourselves, but keep in mind that if it does go a little bit sideways, the rage is going to take up your soullllll…

That’s understandable. I just think is easier to deal with frustrations when you have low expectations, but I’m definitely curious to see it. If it is good my low expectations will be surpassed and then I will have a game that is surprising.
