Hold up. I just thought of something.

The instant respawn thing is great, but what happens to betrayers? The primary punishment for betrayers, other than booting, was their respawn timer lengthening. Since that’s gone, what do we do about betrayers when we’re not given the option to boot them? Shake our fist?

Report, and avoid is all we can do man.

Who says its gone, maybe people who betray wont be able to insta-spawn.

I don’t think they have removed the betrayal boot system.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, I think friendly fire is turned off in infinity slayer.

Friendly fire protocol should ALWAYS be on! If it’s not, people will just throw grenades and rocket fire in rooms without a care! We need to be able to hurt our teammates!

They will have punishment for betrayers in the playlists with friendly fire on.

Betrayals ruined many a multiplayer match where u beat someone to the sniper and they kill u for it and when u get it back they melee u so ur health is low so the enemy can kill u so they can have it when u die. Lol sorry for rage but im not sad its gone.

How about NO?
People can still spam rockets and grenades, and they do without issues, thanks to the broken betrayal booting system. Further more, people should be free to play “less serious” in SOCIAL playlists, I have no doubt Friendly Fire is Mandatory in any ranked playlist (or similar).
To be honest, count the number of times you’ve not used a rocket/grenade because you were afraid to kill a teammate?
Compare that to the number of times some random blam! has betrayed you for a power weapon, to help his friends on the other team, or just to troll. The facts are clear…

Firendly fire serves a purpose in ranked, but not in social. In social it’s just a tool for abuse, it’s a freaking “Troll mode on/off” setting. Having it removed will make every social game better. After all, how many times are you even using rockets for cqc? or spam grenades just for fun?
If you need friendly fire to stop yourself from doing that, I honestly don’t know what to say. As long as you can hurt yourself with your own rockets/grenades, people will still need to think twice. Last but not least, no friendly fire has worked perfectly for many other games, much more competitive then Halo (Unreal, CA, Quake, Battlefield).

Maybe betraying someone will result in the instant respawn being disabled for the betrayer. Like, the first time you betray, you have to wait the standard amount of time, second time it adds a few extra seconds, etc.

Fankie stated that punishments are still in place for objective games so I would assume the same would go for betraying.

And on a side note if you read the Q & A on the front page you would have read this:

"I noticed that friendly fire was off during the E3 demo. Was that solely to stop people from ruining the fun for others in the demo, or will it remain off in the default game types once the full game hits? –Loscocco

Friendly fire is set at a Matchmaking level. Imagine variants. "
