Hey. I was wondering if anyone knows the 2nd bonus objective for “Hold the Line”, where you have to defend the Particle Cannon.
I know the first one is 5 kills with the Turret Drop, but I can’t figure out the other one.
Any help is appreciated!

It wouldn’t be so bad if we could heal the barricade, but the healing drones don’t work on the barricade for whatever reason.

Cyclopses, mass cyclopses. Some nightingales to heal them and room for some AA later on. Even against Infantry, cyclopses melt them.
Now if I only could remember to move them accordingly. No, I haven’t gotten it. I however like the map.
2nd Bonus Objective: Kill 10 enemies with the lightbridge.
Late in the mission, you hear Anders report that the Banished have activated the area’s lightbridge, giving them a direct route from the north that circumvents the west barricades. Get an infantry unit to the lightbridge control console and use it to deactivate the bridge. But wait until several enemy units are crossing, because when the bridge disappears, they plunge into the chasm. You can activate and deactivate the bridge as many times as you want. Lure 10 units to their demise this way to earn a bonus.
The objective is indeed to get kills with the light bridge, but I have played the mission three times now on different difficulties while getting all the other bonuses and the light bridge still isn’t being activated at any point. There has also not been any dialogue mentioning the light bridge. Does anyone know what to do or how to get this to occur?
The light bridge is anot objective, but I’ve done the mission twice now and they never activated it so I can unativate it and kill them with it. The games so new that there’s nothing on this yet. No videos no nothing. Anyone know how to get the light bridge to spawn?
Yes, the light bridge is indeed the second bonus objective. However, the only way you can “activate” the bridge is too let the jump pack brutes that go up there temporarily live (the ones that come down the left lane in pairs of three; they are the only unit that can activate the bridge). This means you CANNOT put offense things up there–turrets/troops, otherwise the brutes may die or get distracted. They usually come in the first 4-5 minutes. You should kill them quickly after they activate the bridge though because a horde of grunts will be coming and you must kill the brutes in order to deactivate it. If you time it right you can get the objective on the first try. Note that the brutes will ALWAYS activate the bridge immediately everytime they go up there from this point on. I like to keep Jerome up there in the tower to re-deactivate it each time they do so.
Also, a word of warning: I’ve noticed something curious after going for this bonus objective; 3 Hunters will get dropped off by a spirit at least 4 different times on the left side in-between the three barriers They are very capable at killing your barriers and it is hard to get to them. I’ve only seen them spawn there once I let the Brutes activate the bridge. Be careful. Other than that this mission is easy, even on Legendary.
It seems a lot of people are having trouble on this mission. I wonder if I should make a walkthrough?

Thanks, by killing everything to quick the bridge would never start up I see.
the barricade opjective is not that hard to get use mines to protect them and some air unities plus upgrade the AA guns to anti-vehi, plus us your leader power the AA gun upgrade it to level two
the console to the light bridge is located close to a power nod the one that have a mini base, closer to the marines that are on a platform

played it on heroic once light bridge came up got msg and perhaps screen lock, replayed through campaign on normal mode to get, opt obj, and bonus obj and it didn’t notify my of bridge
perhaps it’s difficulty mode?
Harder difficulty usually means more troops as well, I’m thinking hindsight that they intended to make it easy to get if you get that far on heroic which may take a few try’s for new players
The light bridge becomes available when the banshees begin to spawn I believe. I’ve never had the brutes get to the bridge control but I was able to activate/deactivate the light bridge later in the game.
In terms of defending the barricade, I had both turrets upgraded to anti-vehicle. Have 1 siege turret on the bottom right turret slot for the base and the rest are anti-air turrets. Train lots and lots of hornets with 3 nightingales. I put Douglas in one of the hornets so he doesn’t slow down the army and put them in the junction between the east and north path so I can maneuver them easily between the points. The top side of the map, I have anti-infantry turrets and gradually switch over the anti-vehicle turrets as the path approaches the barricades. Reason for these turret placement because the infantry are usually weak and would die from 3-4 anti-infantry turrets. Vehicles would be a bigger problem to your barricades so I switch over to anti-vehicle closer to the barricade. 3 anti-air turrets at main base because I tend not to deal with banshees since they are too far away from the junction so I let them attack the base and get destroyed by my turrets. Siege turret bottom right because its range reaches the east barricade.

Build Cyclops and Marines. Stack cyclops near the North East Entrance. Throw everything else in the middle lane. Build and upgrade all turrets to anti-vehicle near the middle of the map. Turrets closest to your base and on your base = anti-air. Drop lotus mines on the walkway up to protect the top mini-base on the map.
Walk away - and you win.
On legendary - Hornets and Nightengales = how to win. That and all of the same turret upgrades and stuff.
Basically what you got to do is let the jump pack brutes activate the console then just wait for a few groups of enemies to cross the bridge then de activate it… rinse repeat… I believe the jump pack brutes come 3 or 4 times during the mission correct me if I’m wrong provided you don’t kill them before they activate the bridge. What I did was let the marines in the tower and not build towers on the corner near the console…

that’s actually really easy. Just play on easy or play co-op. Easy as pie
Tried both the jump pack & banshee tactics. No light bridge spawn. Man I miss Bungie.
