Hold Jump to Hover

Who else thinks the Spartan Hover/ Stabilise ability should be activated by holding down Jump and not Zoom?

I see no reason why there can’t be an option to choose either or, much like toggle, or holding crouch. I liked having hover activated when I zoomed while in the air.

Under default settings its was “Zoom to hover” when in the air.

When you turn auto-stabilizers off, it’s “Sprint” to toggle the hover.

Yeah Zoom + Sprint, I’d quite like the ability to hover, decelerate a fall etc without actually having to smart scope.

It’s not so much I’m worried, I just think it makes more sense from a game design and intuition perspective that a vertical mobility ability is attached to a vertical mobility button and not a side effect of doing something else entirely.

Oh, I get where you’re coming from now. Since you put it that way, I’d like to see that as well. Like how people could activate the jetpack in Reach before they landed to counteract the fall damage.

It shouldn’t be hold jump or else you run into the problem of being unable to turn the camera since you thumb is occupied. Pressing jump again mid air makes more sense

Hold crouch is another option. Though you Could have something like a Warlocks Toggle glide in Destiny for control schemes with jump on A.
