Hog Wild V2

These are my ideas for some new Warthog variants that would be cool to have added into Halo 5 in a Hog Wild 2 update or something.

Hannibal Warthog: It shoots the shots that the Hannibal Mantis shoots from its chaingun. This would be classified as a Normal Warthog and come at Req level 3 or 4. It would have a Hannibal paintjob.
Hannibal Gausshog: Replace the Gauss turret with a miniaturized version of the Hannibal Scorpion’s main cannon. It would have to do less damage. Hannibal paint. Also Req level 7.
Hannibal Rockethog: It would shoot the Hannibal Mantis missiles instead of normal rockets. Hannibal paint. Req level 6-7.
Rally Rocket/Gausshog: A faster bright green variant of these warthogs.
Troophog: The Troophog from Halo 3. Kinda like a Scout Warthog, but there are 3 more seats where the gun would be. There could also be Corp, ONI, Woodland/Urban/Tundra, and Rally variants as well. Req level 1-2.
Civilian/Golden Warthog (Mythic): Just the H2A Civilian Warthog. It has a reflective golden paint and normal damage resistance. It looks cool. req level 1.
CE Warthog (Mythic): While it would be realistic if it was indestructible, this would be broken, so it needs insane armor. It also has no overheat but reduced damage. Balancing would mean that it would have (like the original), lethargic acceleration. Req level 3-4.

Creative (edgy) ideas now…

Flamerhog (Flamethrower Warthog): A warthog with a flamethrower turret. It would be the color of the Halo 3 flamethrower and would have the H3 flamethrower (shark teeth and all) instead of the turret. The turret would have a low effective range, but it would be devastating up close. Req level 6-7
Rammerhog (Rammer Warthog)/Scout Warthog: I’m not so sure about the name, but I really like the concept here. Imagine a Warthog slightly faster than normal (but slower than the Rally Warthog) that has increased ramming damage (Have a rammer on the front… sort of like those things on police cars…). The rammer is also electrified and EMPs vehicles on contact as well as inflicting serious damage. Scout variant is ideal, but you could totally strap a gun into the back. Not Rockets or Gauss though. Req level 5-6.

Can you think of any interesting Warthog ideas?

If the troophog was a thing I would NOT want it to have each and every paintjob variant. It’d clutter up the REQs way too much.

> If the troophog was a thing I would NOT want it to have each and every paintjob variant. It’d clutter up the REQs way too much.

This is true… I’d have to see it with these colors… Maybe not completely necessary to have all the variants… It could just be a Mythic Scout Warthog. This would simplify it.

Oni hog is too op as it is when getting trampled.

why is the civilian warthog mythic?

Attack Warthog (Attack Hog) - essentially a Gungoose on steroids, it’s a Warthog with side-mounted machine guns / grenade launchers so the driver can fight on their own, even if they don’t have a gunner. The rear turret is still intact however, which may prove to be devastating when combined with the side-mounted weapons operated by the driver.

Because it was awesome. It was pretty special. You can see the Heretic banshee being mythic, so it would only make sense. The Golden Warthog was only in forge in H2A, so this would be its first war games appearance.

This would be the best thing ever. It is infuriating trying to get a gunner and being repeatedly denied before some noob with a splaser obliterates your vehicle.

I didn’t read the whole thing but I’m pretty sure that the gauss hog was a Hannibal design sold to the UNSC. Remember metropolis in halo 2? The area where the marine picks you up in a gauss hog and drives you to the wraiths? There is a Hannibal billboard. Ya, think about that.

Very interesting… I didn’t see that… So… It would be called the Hannibal Hannibal Gauss Warthog? Okay then.

Who knows, maybe Hannibal decides to make their own tech and makes it with a Hannibal paint job and improved cannon. This also might tie into threads about Hannibal warthogs and other vehicles. Maybe Hannibal could make their own unique vehicle. Just some food for thought.

Finally a forum about a flame hog (and other hogs).

One can never have too many Warthogs! The flamerhog (as I affectionately call it) would have some lore based on Flood containment. The paintjob I imagine would look sick as well. The dark matte green of the Flamethrower for the body, and the H3 Flamethrower as the turret, shark teeth and all… What more does one want in life?

How about the Pyromaniac Mantis which is Bright orange with a flamethrower instead of rockets… I just came up with this…

Flame Scorpion, wasp, and or gungoose.

No, both the original M12 and later M12B variants of the M12G1 Gauss Warthog are an AMG Transport Dynamics design, with a Misriah Armory-manufactured Gauss cannon (M68 and M555 models) mounted on the rear. Hannibal Weapons Systems has no involvement in their design and manufacture, as far as we know.

Flamegoose would be hysterical. It might even outrun the flame and burn itself! A scorpion with a flame Anti Infantry turret would be insane… Maybe even a Grizzly tank…

A Grizzly (with variants) wouldn’t be a bad idea

Like I theoretically should be doing right now…

good to get the lore straight though. This means that the Hannibal Gausshog is still a possibility. Imagine the mobility of a Warthog with the firepower of a Hannibal Scorpion…

“One can never have too many Warthogs!”

Yes, yes one can, and one does. Probably the only additional hogs I’d accept would be a rally rocket and rally gauss, though I; probably prefer just the gauss. That would be interesting.

Other than that, no thank you. A flamethrower hog? How much range would it have? If it’s range were anything like the range of the flamethrower in CE or Halo 3, then I don’t see me, or anyone else getting any use out of it. You’re hannibal gauss hog idea is also redundant. What’s the point of making a hog with a mini hannibal scorpion cannon when the regular gauss is already a one hit kill, and does not have the charge time before firing that the hannibal tank does, plus a shorter recharge time between shots? We don’t need the gold civilian hog from H2A. I don’t care if it looks cool. It’s another useless unarmed vehicle that would just take up even more slots in each REQ pack that could have given me something actually useful. Same goes for the troop hog. That thing would just be a free killtacular for anyone with a laser. Completely useless. There was nothing special about the CE warthog. It was indestructible, sure, but it was also super sluggish and slow to accelerate, something that will just get you killed in Halo 5 with how easy it is for people to shoot a gunner off the turret. It was also stupidly inaccurate, even if you fired in bursts (all automatic weapons in Halo 1 had this problem for some reason). The only use it had in CE multiplayer was driving the flag back to base.

Sorry if I’m being a buzzkill, but I can’t take any more artificial inflation of the REQ system with useless or redundant variants of everything.
