HMCC PC campaign does not work offline

I’ve recently bought a gaming laptop so I can play games when I’m over seas with the army for whenever we get accommodation, however there never is any WiFi where ever we go most of the time. So I decided to download the master chief collection so I could play through the campaigns.

After downloading the game and making sure I had every add on, as soon as I test the game offline it comes up with the message “DLC not installed”. I’m like oook then I’ll reconnect and check if I’ve missed anything, I haven’t.

So far all I’ve done is make sure my Microsoft account allows games to be played offline which I changed in my account settings but this doesn’t help.

The most annoying thing is I’ve already got this game for my xbox at home so I’ve re purchased it mainly for achievements and campaign play for when I’m away with work and it turns out I can’t even play it.

Does anyone have any solution for this or if Microsoft have any plans to solve this issue in the future?

Bummer! Sorry to hear that, man.
I have found someone who is in a similar situation to you. Heck! It might even be you:

Unfortunately, the general consensus to this was that it simply isn’t possible. The game needs to ping to Waypoint for some reason, whether it’s to confirm your license of purchase or some other silly reason. And that’s the reality of the situation for technology these days. Companies just assume you have an internet connection wherever you are.
I wish it weren’t this way.

Try running it with anticheat off, it could be that might circumvent the issue since i believe that disables the waypoint tracking as well

I have a question. Do you have the Steam version or the Windows Store version? If you have it through Xbox Game pass then it’s the Windows Store version. I just wanted to confirm.

I second the idea of trying to run it with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) disabled. It’s a launch option.

steam version is playable offline, no idea about the uwp version, wouldn’t be surprised if that has extra drm.

it’s playable offline on the xb1.

Its the windows one. I also tried launching the anti cheat version offline and it failed.

Yea I managed to get it going for xbox its just the laptop that makes no sence to me

I’ll have to try the disabled one

That’s a bummer. It might be a Microsoft Store or .UWP restriction. Thanks for confirming this. I’ll ask around about it.
