I hear a lot of people complain about Halo and how it should go back to the Old ways. They say we should get rid of Thrusters, sprint, ground pound, the dash, etc. They argue this because the most popular game in the franchise didn’t have this and thus making the game more like Call of duty. But why aren’t people suggesting we get rid of hitscan? Sure, Halo 2 had it but Halo 3 (the most popular game in the franchise) did not. So why aren’t these people arguing for more projectile based weapons?? It would require more skill would it not?? Keep in mind I’m not arguing for it, I’m just pointing out some things Halo Veterans should be arguing for if they want “skill” back in Halo.
I for one grew up playing Halo 3 therefore I am a bit biased, but I would like to see the return of a projectile based weapons in Halo 6.
What do you guys think?
I agree. If Halo 5 had projectile based weapons, it would not be half as stressful to play. In warzone, i am constantly in fear of getting 4 shotted by BRs across the map.
hitscan is old-school Halo. UNSC weapons were hitscan in Halo CE and 2. Only 3 had a mix of projectiles.
And hit-scan is fine as-is. They just need to nerf bullet magnetism for the sniper and other precision weapons.

Yeah, I read in this report Bungie.net that for Halo 3 it was designed to be a mid-range weapon only. Not so much for close quarters or long range, like in Halo 2.

HCE was projectile…

Yeah, for plasma based weapons. UNSC weapons are hitscan… well, the M6G is. I can’t say for the MA5B, I don’t use it enough.

Last time I checked the CE Pistol was projectile based and you had to lead shots at longer ranges with it. Plasma besides the Carbine and Beam is projectile based…
In my experience the sniper is fine: I scored more difficult headshots and kills in Halo 4 then 5. And the Halo 2 BR needs the bullet magnetism nerfed: but it won’t happen seeing as it’s designed to be like it’s Halo 2 counterpart: OP bullet magnetism.

Pretty sure you are right, you have to lead sniper shots at long range as well in CE.

That might explain my bad aim during Legendary run of CE in MCC
If only I had the aim of a certain marine from the second mission…
It’s quite ridiculous how this turns into a small discussion, we’re not talking about opinions here, we’re talking about facts.
hitscan: bullet hits immediately after pulling the trigger, player doesnot need to lead
projectile: bullet need time to travel, player needs to lead when aiming at a certain distance
if you have ever played Halo CE, you should know that it uses projectile-based weapons
I personaly would not like that. The servers would have to be pristine with little to no latency issues for projectiles to work well. That or make the projectiles so fast that it only matters at very long range.
Try playing Halo 3 on MCC, its a trial of frustration and confusion.
In my opinion Halo 3 has not aged well at all. It feels like an older game than Halo 2.

You do indeed, i have many memories of trying to get the right lead on running players on blood gulch
