Are you guys patching the planet sized head hitboxes for the Anniversary patch? Sniping is WAY too easy. Not to mention getting headshots in general is so easy. Hellen Keller can get headshots 80% of the time in Reach. Please make this game take skill again. Make the head hitbox CE sized. Hell, I’ll even settle for Halo 3 sized.

hopefully they put it in
I did some checking once and the hitboxes for heads actually are the same size as a typical (non-bulky) helmet.
halo CE required skill to pop out that headshot
halo 2 was a bit easier
halo 3’s was good
halo reach’s is way to easy, you can like snipe someone from behind by like shooting their upperback.
BRING BACK halo one hitbox

…
Wait, are you guys referring to how the hitbox seems to be proportionately sized to the distance at which you’re shooting? Because I know it’s normal-sized at close-range, but at long-range…
I don’t think it’s the hitbox seeing as it’s affected by range… Maybe it’s magnetism?

It is the magnetism, people usually confuse the easy headshot capability to be because of hitboxes while in fact, it’s because of the huge amount of bullet magnetism which CE never really had. The sniper in Reach seems to have very much bullet magnetism as sometimes you get headshots while clearly not even aiming at their head.
Some amount of bullet magnetism is generally needed in online play or otherwise bullets shots won’t count because of latency, this amount however should be far less than what Reach currently has.

Sniper hitbox is WAY too big, agreed, but the NR has a pin sized hitbox, use that if you want small hitboxes rght now, thats what i use most of the time.

Again, confusing hitbox volume with reticle area.
The NR’s blooming reticle is smaller than the Sniper’s. But once the reticle turns red, suddenly the NR has a bullet magnetism aiming area 3 to 5 times larger than the Sniper’s. And you don’t need to be red all the time either.
I suggest you make a clip of shooting past a player’s head with the sniper at multiple ranges. Then do it with the NR. Try and see where and when you miss. You’ll find the hitboxes are not as large as you claim.
In this video, you can see the effect to which you believe is hitbox size but in reality is aim-assist within a reticle determined over a distance unique to each weapon.

The reason you can snipe someone in the head by hitting the upper back is because, the bullet goes through the back and hits the face/chin of the spartan… In this game they took into account that the bullet goes through the body and still hits the head. To me personally thats not a bad thing at all.
That and auto aim/bullet magnetism. I can sit on the rocks behind Hemorrhage’s red base and snipe people at blue base with ease. Everybody thinks they’re a “sniper god” when it’s really easy to snipe nowadays in any game.
bullet magnetism is way to much. lower that with a bloomless DMR and its good.
At least it’s not Halo 2-level hitboxes. Sniping dudes in the face without your bullet actually touching their heads much fun!
After playing all the games, I finally understand how to answer this question: Marksman Rifles.
The hitboxes on these were the most broken in reach when SWAT was overkill. Halo 2 was INSANE for CQC BTR fights, but sniping was fine, as was three. I am dissapointed in how they nerfed the vehicle damage on the Sniper, due to the low accessability of ordinances in Halo 4. Playing CE with a sniper was probably the best due to slight input lag and slight bullet drop that needed to be accounted for, yet you could actually get a kill. However, most snipers can be killed by a DMR/BTR/Magnum user.
