Hitbox Size?

Is it me or is the hitbox for your spartan FRICKIN HUGE.

I had a guy shoot all around me in the killcam but never on target (not even close in fact) yet he still killed me. Other times I have had a Ghost go to ram me but I jetpacked above it and while it missed me completely it still killed me as if it hit me.

It’s like the hitbox is for a target at least double the size of the actual model.

I then tried my theory… tried shooting AROUND the targets and I still got kills.

Anyone else notice this? I think this is the reason for the really fast kill times… you just don’t need to aim that much.

The hitboxes aren’t large at all. I’ve tested them… However, the killcams are extremely buggy. Don’t trust them. :stuck_out_tongue:

this, it isn’t the hit boxes, its how multiplayer and theater works.

I think there must have been some sort of network problem because tonight at peak time I wasn’t getting any lag for the first time in a Halo 4 match and was actually moving around properly for the first time. No rubberbanding, not shots that were taking up to a second to fire (happened at times) and no apparent hit boxes that were huge.

I thought “AWESOME” and then the base of my sofa fell through! I swear, it’s always something with me heh.

It’s definitely lag that is causing the problem with the killcam. I don’t know what has changed but it really improved a lot tonight. Pity I have got to wait for the wood glue to set on my sofa base now… and it’s Black Ops 2 tomorrow. I might just hold off playing BO2 until I’m bored with Halo.

Thanks for the info re the Killcam btw but I already knew about most of it. Strangely enough this is the first game with killcams where the aiming is offcenter and you get a kill. In games such as COD it seems to be the opposite. You can be shown shooting perfectly on target and not getting a kill. But yeah, the prediction really sucks.

What sucks even more is the backseat aimer you get ingame (called sticky reticle). If only you could turn that crap off I think I would aim a load better. Why they never give you the option to do so is beyond me. You would think that using a lousy aimbot (which is what it is in essence) would be against the rules.

I have to agree about the sticky aim thing. It is really annoying when a ghost buzzes in front of you when in a gun fight and your weapon follows him over the guy shooting at you. Uggh!

Sticky Reticle is a nightmare for snipers. Try to lead a target and the -Yoink!- aim get yanked if someone else passes by and then releases and you miss BOTH targets. Wastes a bullet and alerts them at the same time.

I HATE backseat drivers. I bought the game and want to aim, not some crappy aimbot.

I can definitely point out some hit detection issues, in a custom game with my friend we aimed at one another with the BR and DMR and there are several spots on the body where the reticle will turn red even when the sight is not on him…yes the reticle is very close to the body but its still not on him. I’ve also experienced the same thing with kill cams…somebody kills me and it shows their reticle no where near me but still registering shots. I dont no if the guy who killed me is seeing everything perfectly normal as if he were shooting me in the head, but its certainly not what the kill cam shows. I am unsure if this is a kill cam issue or a hit detection issue…i just hope it gets fixed or kill cams disappear all together. Inform me if I’m wrong, simply limited, or if other people are having this same issue. Overall…still a fun game to play.
