Hit registration issues (video proof)

Noticed with the sniper that when not zoomed in the no scope doesn’t always hit even with a perfectly lined up headshot. This is quite annoying! Video proof in weapon drills

Hmm interesting… I wonder if the sniper bullet direction actually various depending on the size of the reticle. ie when descoped the reticle is larger.

I don’t think this really affects the majority of players though. I personally haven’t felt any hit registrations issues.

Wow just watched. There should be no bloom for Sniper. That shouldn’t be there.

If so I don’t believe it’s a great idea, another randomness factor on top of bloom would not sit well. I can say most the weapons hit registration feels fine, but the sniper even from the first tech preview has not felt right and this could be another reason. I feel you if you have a centered headshot no matter the reticle size it should be a headshit with a precision weapon like the sniper.

There shouldn’t be bloom period honestly, but it is definitely noticeable on the sniper more than other weapons. However bloom isn’t even effecting the shots in the video which is even more scary.

I don’t disagree. I think the only reason why I’m not enraged by this is because of the state of “team snipers” in MCC.
You get wrecked in there with mnk no scoping. I don’t think that the 90% of the community will be affected by a small amount of variation to the no scope of the sniper. Only the elite mnk will be limited by this I feel.

But I agree. there does feel like there is “something off” with the sniper in this game. But I guess I was too fixated on most of the AA issues to get concerned about the sniper in particular.

I may be mistaken here but wasn’t this something a developer talked about. If the crosshair radical isn’t red you do not get Bullet Mag and have somewhat of a bloom. I am curious if you miss the sniper shot every time if you try it a couple of more times.

I’m shocked that it wasn’t perfect in a beta. Shocked I tell ya!!

I could understand this for something like the BR where its burst fire. But dead center in the head zoomed in or not should register as a headshot.

That would be a problem from the get go if it was by design. Input type shouldn’t matter. The game shouldn’t determine the outcome of what hits and what doesn’t. The players aim should. Maybe this weekend will shine some light on it. Fingers crossed.

I am well aware there are bugs to be worked out, indeed that is what these tech previews are for. However given the extensive list of complaints that seem to be coming in I do not believe it will be launch ready in December. No the game doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect in every aspect but gameplay bugs, like hit registration, sensitivity issues, optimization problems, and etc like that can completely kill the game at launch. In this day in age a bad launch is nearly impossible to recover from. Even if they manage to recover it would be to late as other titles would dominate that market who had better launches.

I watched the video and yeah. 343 should fix that.

Right! Having bloom in the game is enough of a problem as it is, we don’t need inconsistent hit registration on top of that!
