So I was playing some games the other day and hit someone in the back and it did not kill them. they were clearly facing away from me, but it did not register the hit in the back properly and only dealt a little bit of damage.

the first link looks like you got the front or the side, but the second link is clear you were in the back, the only and only reason i can think it didnt register as a kill, is la, or the fact you kinda were to the side and back not directly behind him. that kinda melee generally tries the assassination animation, unless you have it turned off.
