I don’t want to say that I have the best accuracy, but I’m not horrible. Occasionally, when I shoot somebody in their head when they’re one shot, it doesn’t kill them. I feel like my shots don’t register.
I’ve recorded plenty of clips where I shoot somebody who’s one shot and get the kill, and shoot somebody who’s one shot and don’t get the kill. Almost every time, I shoot them in the head.
I looked at clips where I aim in a similar spot and don’t get the kill, and I noticed that it’s most common to not kill somebody who’s one shot when you are aiming to the direct left, or right of their head. Half of your cursor on their head, and half off. Not sure if this was always a feature in Halo, but I never encountered it before.
or I might just suck…
UPDATE- from all of my experience, i feel like when somebody has no shields, then their one shot isn’t really a one shot. i feel like for some reason that they’re way stronger than they should be. i don’t really know. from all of my experience, that’s what i think is happening. idk tho.

The hit detection in the game when played online is fantastic.
when it comes to your problems, i would first say dont assume they are one shot. Just because you think they are doesnt mean that they are. Second, while there is a decent amount of bullet magnetism in this game, if your reticule is not on the head entirely, there is at the very least a chance that not all of your bullets will hit.
I seem to get more headshots when I clearly should have missed v.s. having my aim near perfect. Bullet magnetism seems to over compensate for horrible aiming, but undercompensate for decent aiming. Whereas, it should be the opposite.

I would argue that aiming and hit detection is the best in Halo 4 out of all the games including H5. Go look at my stats for 4 and then look at my stats for 5.

i know what you mean. i’m gonna prove myself, homie. it happens every match.
Could have been lag related, but I have gotten “perfect kills” with my final shot clearly hitting them in the chest. I have also some spectacular head shots with the sniper rifle…when I fired when they were outside of my field of view.
