So the hit detection in this game, mainly for melee kills and even Spartan charges needs to be tweaked or fixed, because so far I have played about three games where I have went for the melee, lunged into the opponent only to here a THWUMP, and nothing happen to their shields or ( in most cases because Ive damaged their shields) get that satisfying death by Spartan Slap.
And yes I have gone back into theater to see if maybe I just missed but most of my theater videos show DUST coming off their body when my shoulder or fist makes contact with their steel body.
Also I have watched others punch me (in breakout) and nothing happens to me, so lucky day free. kill.
Server issues or hit detection, whatever it needs, it needs to be fixed.
PS: Same -Yoink- happens with the sword sometimes too.

Oh my god yes, I run into that all the time, you even do the crouch jump just for that extra height only to get splatter by the insanely large hitboxes the vehicles have now in this game.
Just like how you’re pretty far from an enemy opponent and they still manage to highjack you. (and if you’re on a tank you cant shoot them off so you just have to sit there and hope your teammates manage to shoot them off before the throw a happy little capsule of explosives into your engine or cabin)
I think the impact of spartan charge needs to be fixed. Either by making the hitbox itself smaller or changing damage based off distance/angle of hit. It really pisses me off when someone spartan charges and basically brushes my arm almost completely missing me, but it still does full damage and I’m frozen for a second before I can shoot. Also income melee damage during a Spartan Charge and Slam needs to be increased. This dude is flying full force into my fist, it should kill both of us or just the person charging. Logically if they are full speed flying at me the punch should have more impact then if their Spartan was standing still.
Also everyone talking about the splatter hitbox I have no clue what you are talking about and it sounds more like a reaction time issue rather than a hitbox issue. I DO NOT crouch jump and I am able to jump right over an incoming ghost well over half the times. So either A) you are just hitting jump button too early or too late, B) crouch jumping actually slows or lowers the top high of the jump. Again I play a lot of warzone and I never have a major issue with splatter hitboxes. If anything I’m more annoyed that somehow I’m running into them hard enough to take out their shield but then they just turn around and board me.

Answering the bold part first, this is happens the most with small to mid sized vehicles, especially the warthog.
I’m not talking about ghosts, ghosts are easy to dodge, but, Gungoose, Scout warthog and Wraiths are the ones that seem to get me even though I am clearly jumping over them. I’ve been playing since Halo CE, so timing isn’t an issue. Sometimes I don’t react, I get that its when I have clearly jumped over the vehicle and by some random act of the Halo Gods even though he’s already pass me I get hit by that stupid Scout Warthog!
Issues like this one can often happen when you’re playing on a dedicated server thousands of miles away from your location; for example if you’re in the EU and you’re playing against American players on an American server. Playing on dedicated servers thousands of miles away also causes poor hit registration, opponents killing you quickly because they’re getting shots off before you event get to see them, getting killed once you’ve rounded a corner etc.
