I’ve heard a lot of different opinions on Hit Markers so I’m curious to see where the community stands.
I think launching a grenade across the map or into a room where you cannot see the enemy but knowing that you hit them is incredibly unfair.
My opinion / idea is that you should have to see your target. I would not mind hit markers when you have direct line of sight while throwing grenades or firing a gun because you have seen your target. It may seem obvious that you don’t need a hit marker when you can see the target but I think it is useful with narrow sight lines. I just think it is unfair if you are guessing with nades around corners.
On the other hand, no random hit markers could lead to more shotgun camping I guess…
What do you think??
I believe the glowing shields of a damaged opponent work as a better indicator.

so no hit markers for you?
I generally don’t care about hitmarkers when it comes to normal weapons. It is grenade and other explosive hitmarkers that bother me. Explosive hitmarkers change how the game is played. Unsure about a corner? Just chuck a nade and see what happens, either no one is there or you get a hitmarker meaning you not only did damage but now have a general idea about where a player is. At the very least you know where they are not and all it took was an easily replaceable grenade.
If hitmarkers only activated on direct hits or if the OPs solution was workable than I would not mind hitmarkers.
That said, I don’t think there was any problem with shield flares and blood spurts being the only indicator.
Hit markers are a good idea with a line of sight because sometimes there are spotty connection issues and hit markers help you know if you are actually landing the hits or not.

Nope. Absolutely unneeded on weapons and grenades alike.
I never noticed those because I look at the person I am shooting at not the reticle but the hit marker for grenades need to go, camping in Halo has never been a huge issue as long as you have a smart team.

this is another reason why i think that hit markers are necessary but I think that they are over powered need to be nerfed.
Visual hit markers are cool. But when they’re coupled with a sound effect… Gah! MW1 did that back in the day but the audio cue wasn’t so high pitched and ANNOYING
