History Repeating Itself

What if the current Reclaimer saga is actually history repeating itself. The Forerunners took the Mantle of Responsibility for themselves by force, the Created essentially did the same thing. The Banished come in as a twisted version of the Covenant who respect humanity similarly to how the flood were the twisted form of the Precursors who favored humanity. What if the Banished help in breaking the Created while still posing as a threat to anyone else similarly how the Flood broke the Forerunners while still posing as a threat to anyone else. The awakening the nightmare storyline could’ve metaphorically been the flood’s way of passing the torch to them.

Yeah, The Created’ usurpation of The Mantle cannot be a good thing.

This might pose the opposite outcome and finally break the cycle, no matter who reigns victorious from the events of Infinite, it might be with that faction proving they deserve the mantle as oppose to forcing themselves into obtaining the mantle.

Every belief Cortana expresses in Halo 5 is either one that the Gravemind told her while she was in its clutches (following Halo 2, detailed in the story “Human Weakness”), or a belief expressed by the Ur-Didact after he acquired the Logic Plague from his conversation with the Primordial, so it’s completely reasonable to conclude that Halo 5’s Cortana is under the sway of the Flood’s Logic Plague, and she’s being manipulated into being a galactic threat to serve as a test of worthiness for humanity to see if they’re ready to attain the Mantle.

They smell like bacon and eggs by the wayI smell good theorys

I don’t think The created will bear much of a story of Halo infinite…

Idk about that. The Discover Hope trailer had a whole section dedicated to a Cortana monologue. And then there was an Easter Egg with additional Cortana dialogue. Not to mention Chief pausing to stare at his AI chip before inserting it during the boot up sequence. So there’s been more than just a few hints at the Created. Rather we’ve had some pretty explicit marketing regarding that faction.

True but I kinda see Cortana and her guardians as what we got to see about the forerunners in Halo CE. Back then we knew the Forerunners had some important bearing to the story like creating the halo ring and killing all life. We also got to know that they were beings with power and really advance technology but we never got to know their story or anything really personal about them and all I can see is if Cortana wanted to that she could defeat the chief, the banished and about everybody considering according to the banished leader on Zeta halo that humanity has already lost.

Let me correct myself, Cortana DON’T want to defeat Master Chief but she thinks her work is so important that she is willing to lock him up in order for him to not stop her and I think with her having the logic plague that she would be willing to kill him if necessary to bring order. I could be wrong that she doesn’t have much going for her in the story but my theory is that she has probably already won if the banished has defeated humanity, the banished is good but good enough to stop a gigantic Guardian? To stop Cortana who probably has all kinds of forerunner technology by now? I think her sequence and dialogue is just for marketing (it’s not uncommon for 343i to lie exactly) and to make people believe she will have something meaningful to bring to the story.
