As much as I love the Arbiter, I was hoping the Terminals in Halo 2 Anniversary would go more in depth with what exactly happened on Installation 05. I think it’d be fascinating to see Penitent Tangent’s demise and to experience the “logic plague” that turned Forunner AIs against their masters.
Was anyone else expecting something more along these lines as well?
This is what I was hoping for, and I still hope that they might sneak in a few terminals that deal with the history of Installation 05. What’s with various ruins across the ring? How did the Gravemind form? Better yet, how did it survive with limited access to fresh biomass? Are Sentinal Majors and Enforcers only deployed in the case of a massive Flood outbreak, as we suspect?
These questions, and more, unlikely to ever be answered.
This, on top of whatever the ONI had been up to on that particular ring.

Are you talking post-war?
I wonder if an alien ship like the one that landed on installation 04 also landed on 05 except Tangent went inside unlike Guilty Spark.
Perhaps the ships’ crew were meant to serve as biomass for Flood stationed on the rings.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed to learn that most of H2A’s terminals focus on the Arbiter. Such a waste of storytelling, IMO.
Because we know so much about the Sangheili and very little about Installation 05. Hopefully, the focus of the terminals will be in context with the setting. Terminals in High Charity will focus on the Arbiter, Installation 05 terminals will focus on Penitant Tangent, Earth-based terminals will give windows on civilian life during the battle. That’d be great.
But if we’re going to waste time on a character and species that’s already been explored to death, whatever.

It may not be a waste of time if we’re finding out what the Arbiter is up to between the Kilo 5 books and his appearance in Halo Escalation. And as someone pointed out on YouTube, 343 did sneak in the Keyes terminal in Halo CEA, so we could still see terminals about Installation 05’s history and whatnot.

THAT’S BEEN DRIVING ME NUTS FOR YEARS!!! I thought maybe after watching the Halo 4 terminals where the humans had been … well, reduced to being primitive, and the Librarian had them living on Rings … did they build them? They obviously can’t be older than the Ring upon which they stand … were they transported there? Would Mr. Tangent allow ancient humans to erect structures among Forerunner structures?
… those terminals better explain.

This is pure speculation, but could it be possible that the non-Flood specimens that were stored there evolved to form their own civilization on the ring?
Could that species have also evolved with the help of tech on the ring to become the ship that crash lands on Installation 04 trying to escape the Flood?
I would love to learn more in depth about 05.
With that being said, and with the terminals being about Arby, I would LOVE if we could learn more about where and what exactly Arby was doing on 04.
Probably primitive Humans living on the ring and their old structures. Kind of like Mayans/Incas. Then again, Forerunner tech was implemented into these ruins…
