Yesterday i was queuing solo and at some point i thought i was about to get a game (connecting session) then i got an error message saying the session is full. I wondered, how can i bump into a full session, in matchmaking… doesn’t make much sense.
Then a buddy appeared online, i invited him to XBL party, we did chat a bit then he said… wanna play? I said: we are grouped this won’t work but he insisted so we tried, and it didn’t work.
He then suggested we try something else. We both queue individually (while staying in XBL party) and the first one that gets players to appear in the lobby invites the other one to the game… Much to my surprise, it worked and funy enough, we were always on the same team. Then i wondered, did another player bump into a “session full” because i took his/her place?
Most the games if not all were 5v4, and we were on the team of 5. When i queue solo i am usually on the smaller team, but by doing this little trick i ended up in the bigger team.
We did not do that to abuse any mechanics, it was more like 2 RL buddies desperate to play together like in the good old days.
