> Q: You’ve hinted that Halo 4’s multiplayer will be framed within a narrative. I like the idea that there’s a reason why red and blue are fighting, but do you really think people have ever wanted an answer to that question?
>
> FO: That particular point, phrased that way, I don’t think people really care. I think they love [Halo multiplayer announcer] Jeff Steitzer’s voice and the weird surreality that multiplayer Halo brings. It ended up, for a reason that will become apparent later in the year, it ended up becoming necessary - so we thought, what’s a cool way to make that make sense so that everything else makes sense. So we solved the Red vs Blue Team Slayer thing in the service of the greater goal, which is again the aspect of multiplayer that we’ll talk about later. It makes perfect sense, and it’s not really all that new. It’s something we talked about during Halo 2 and Halo 3, and it’s the same answer each time. It’s just that we’re going to put it in a fairly different context, and finally explore it a little bit.

Yay Jeff Steitzer is returning!

It is probable that Red vs Blue might have a story connection to multiplayer considering that 343i loves RvB.

ok, so in multiplayer we are spartan IVs, and theres something to do with the announcer’s voice (not necessarily the actor). so using the already assumed scenario of multiplayer being a sort of training sim for spartan IVs it could be an instructor. it is not the chief his voice is different it could be a voice for Kurt ambrose or mendez or a currently unannounced third character to be found in Karen’s next book before release.

but thats just a theory with no evidence.

thankyou, i meant the other guy, from blue team

How did you interpret that comment as confirmation that Jeff Steitzer would be returning? All he said was that players “love” that aspect of the multiplayer.

true it doest say he is returning, but why the hell would he turn down a job on halo, that people think he does brilliantly? his voice is almost as iconic of halo as the chief’s.

Fred?

idk if they should show other familiar Spartans cuz it might take away from Master Chief…

Anyone found anything?

If you pair what Frank said in that answer and what was said in the most recent Halo bulletin…

> The man and woman in the video were incredibly talented actors. Their roles in Halo 4 are pivotal and essential to the story we’re telling, but we’ll talk more about those and other actors in the future. I think Halo fans will be calm and happy about our casting, including MP V/O, but we’re not revealing more at this time.

You can come to a pretty logical conclusion that Jeff Steitzer will be returning.

Agreed.
Nicely put.

My guess is that it’s all a training simulation (that explains respawning). And the “greater goal” is the other parts of MP where you fight covenant/new enemies. So maybe spartan vs spartan is simulation, and modes like invasion are the real deal.

takes picture NEAT

OMGZ rocket launcher IS returning!!!
