Hint at new Halo game?

So, I read this line from this week’s bulletin and it caught my interest very much.

> “The Halo 4 team is starting work on that stuff now”

Until this point, I thought that 343 were working specifically on Halo 4. So could this line be a possible hint that 343 have already split into teams to work on a new game aswell as Halo 4. Perhaps Halo wars 2, or a Halo 2 remake. Or am I just missing something?

Well the game goes gold in seven weeks, there will be teams who have nothing to do for a bit, all there is left to do likely is some bug fixes, balancing and polishing.

I believe when it said “The Halo 4 team is starting work on that stuff now”, I believe they meant the Matchmaking Team for Halo 4 though.

EDIT: Just to mention, at E3 2011, they confirmed a new Halo trilogy, not just Halo 4, it is pretty evident that Halo 5 & 6 will be coming in the near future, but don’t expect much work on that for months, they’ve got post-launch support to deal with.

Supposedly there will be a Halo 2 Anniversary as well which was semi-confirmed by a possible leaked OXM page. 343i didn’t exactly deny it, they just said they were busy. This makes logical sense to me since they want everyone’s attention Halo 4 which is close to going Gold. But considering the leak and the secret 11th CEA Terminal directly hinting at Halo 2 I would say its coming for sure. They’re just not ready to come out and say it until Halo 4 gets out there. Probably hear something at next years E3 or something.

The 11th terminal was there to explain how Guilty Spark discovered the Covenant and stuff, to clear up that part of canon that was left untold, just like the other ten terminals.

This. I really don’t know how people got that mixed up to be honest. It was pretty obvious that it wouldn’t hint to a H2 remake.

I would agree except for the part where we had to piece this puzzle together in a secret area on WayPoint in order to unlock it. It wasn’t exactly mind blowing how he encountered the Covenant anyways, there was no need to make us do all that in order to learn the obvious. First Strike made it clear the Covenant remained in the area, as well as the very opening of Halo 2. It doesn’t take a genius to see how Guilty Spark would have run into them. It needed no clearing up IMO.

But that still dosnt make it a hint for a Halo 2 remake

I felt the 11th terminal was meant to provide the missing link in 343’s story as a full circle in his story.

I want a halo: odst 2

I want a Halo Wars and Halo FPS set of games where the units are FPS players, vehicles and buildings in real-time single universe insanity.

I’d love Halo 5 FPS to have an RTS with the same matchmaking and persistent universe. Similar to Eve and Dust 514.

Forget Halo 2 remake for Halo Wars 2 standalone, that’s so last decade of gaming.

Microsoft CONFIRMED that Halo 4 would be the first in a new TRILOGY so yes there WILL be more games.

Implying everyone has read the books, I know I hadn’t when I watched the terminals.

can you give the whole sentence that was in the bulletin because this dosnt tell us anything, that could mean anything, to me that sounds like they are working on a specific part of halo 4.

I don’t remember where I read or heard this (I think it was one of the RTX panels), but 343 did say that the Reclaimer Trilogy is more of a Saga than a Trilogy. This could just b referring to the story being expanded through Spartan Ops and the novels, but, to me, it implies that we may get more ODST-like expansion campaigns in the years between main entries in the Reclaimer Saga. I could be wrong, I could be right, I could be both. We’ll find out.
