Should there be a hijacking etiquette? Like not hijacking legendaries until they’ve caused relevant damage! I know I’m an -Yoink- when I play and hijack mantises all the time but I think hijacking a legendary as soon as it comes out is, well, rude. Thoughts?
take it immediately get an unfrig with it and tbag em
If the enemy vehicle has a gunner (and a passenger), take them out first. Sometimes they’ll get out on foot and try to kill you, let alone shoot from the vehicle.
Above all, don’t attack the vehicle head on. Instead, approach from a sudden angle and hijack it.
I use pulse grenades and then hijack it.
Why should I give the enemy the opportunity to go on a kill streak?
Warzone was clearly designed to foster and nourish trolls from day one. I don’t think you’ll have any luck here, given that the game just hands you the opportunity to act like a piece of shirt.
I say vehicles are fair game. That being said, I also don’t think you should sit there and blast the dead drivers body with his own vehicle. Thats just poor taste

To be fair, unless you are in a mantis, that’s pretty much the same as teabagging (which I still find utterly abhorrent).
Hijacking etiquette
- Thank the involuntary donor for his/her level x req, although they cannot hear you, it is the right thing to do. “Thanks for the banshee, fool”
- Kill the donor with his/her own vehicle, although they will not admit it, you are actually doing them a favor and it will take the sting of their error down a couple of notches.
- Enjoy your free x level req.

Very well said MATADOR Inc.
I usually avoid killing the person I just hijacked as much as I can, unless they try to hijack it back or actually put me in danger. I just feel bad for taking their vehicle which they had to first get in a req pack then spawn in using their req levels.
You can’t avoid the inevitable. If your’re in a legendary vehicle, take it easy, most of the time when i’m using one I’m more observant, I check around the back of the vehicle in case some pesky Spartan is approaching. Just be more observant. Or try to distance yourself from potential highjackers.
The only “etiquette” that should happen is that no one camps vehicle spawn sites for the purpose of hijacking fresh vehicles before the driver has a chance to react. But that’s more a flaw on the vehicle spawn design.
I don’t think etiquette plays a role. Camping the vehicle spawns is a little sad, though.
On the other hand if your team is triple capped (and has been for a while) and I spawn a Mantis/Wraith/Scorpion to try and solo the warden/mythic knight whatever. It isn’t in your best interest to try and hijack me. If you fail, you’re going to die. If you succeed you’re going to stretch the match out longer. That isn’t a matter of etiquette, just self-interest.
This is just funny.
Rather get it out of the way then let it wreck my team.
I can’t tell if this is a serious post or someone just attempting to troll. Why would it be proper etiquette to wait until they are wreaking havoc to make it ok to hijack or destroy their vehicle? I agree with what others have said about not camping vehicle spawns, but other than that everything is free game. If that is what you are asking then yes I agree there should be etiquette with any vehicles spawning to not allow that kind of camping, not just with legendary ones. If you are just saying that players using high level REQ’s should be given a chance to get plenty of kills before you go after them then I 100% disagree with that statement. If you are not good enough to not get hijacked or killed out of the vehicle then it was never truly yours to begin with.
I agree with the above post, is the OP serious or trying to troll here, what would the rationale ever be to let someone take out a legendary vehicle and wreck havoc when you could have stopped it from the start? This is rediculous, this has to be trolling.
For etiquette reasons should you also not get perfect kills and miss your last shot to give the other guy a chance? Should you not splatter that guy running away because he didn’t see you? Should you not throw grenades into the opponents base when there are opponents in there because they didn’t know you were outside? Should you not aim for the head with a sniper rifle because it would kill them with one shot when they couldn’t see you? Should you only use the turrets from vehicles because those weapons that shoot things that blow up kill Spartans that aren’t in a vehicle too easily? Should you not assassinate an opponent because he wasn’t looking at you? If you are on a rampage should you stop firing your weapon, because hey these other guys might have had some reqs that they were saving up and it’s just not fair to them?
Really, come on with this topic, this is just rediculous, it’s warzone other than tripple capping an opponent and camping vehicles in front of the enemies home base and ignoring the AI and deliberately not trying to take out the core to farm kills to win there is nothing that is poor etiquette.
I think the cause of this post was because the OP was playing Warzone and got spawn camped 1 too many times. So rather than changing his strategy, he wants other players to bend over and let him destroy them for a few minutes before killing him instead of doing the smart thing and doing whatever it takes to eliminate him as a threat before he even has the chance to wreak havoc.
To answer your question OP, no, this is not a matter of etiquette, it’s a matter of smart play.

The only etiquette there should be.
If someone can get a legendary req vehicle there is really no need to let them do more damage to your team
High-jacking Etiquette:
Don’t be that guy that just EMPs the vehicle. EMP it until your pistol runs out. It’s different if they abandon it
