Is this concept completely foreign to like…EVERYBODY !? I’ve been playing Spartan Ops missions online all day with a buddy of mine to speed rank, and every single person we play with just blows the wraith up ! You people are aware that if you take out the gunner and jump in that the driver will jump out and you’ll have a perfectly good wraith at your disposal right ? Because, apparently none of you get that. Instead of making the mission easier and faster for everyone by taking the tank, let just -Yoinking!-’ blow it up !
It is faster than trying to board it and etc etc etc…
Considering infinite lives, it isn’t worth the time.
EDIT: Look at it this way. one vehicle (if you get my meaning) or 4 DMR’s/BR’s/ghosts
EDIT 2: BY the way, I think SpOps is locked at legendary meaning with slow vehicles, you’ll be lucky to survive 10 seconds (while it takes 10-20 to hijack a wraith)
FINALLY! Someone who understands not to blow up a perfectly good wraith!
yes but at the same time if you do it right, hijacking a wraith MAYBE takes 10 seconds. Think of it this way, 1 tank +3 DMR/BR’s.
Here’s the problem: The amount of damage you inflict on the wraith to kill the drives makes it utterly useless, especially on Legendary.
To those of you who are opposed to this idea ? have you ever even tried to take a wraith ? even on legendary your argument is invalid, a tank is a tank and it does a considerable amount of damage no matter what, everything still dies with one shot/mortar.
> Here’s the problem: The amount of damage you inflict on the wraith to kill the drives makes it utterly useless, especially on Legendary.
No if you jump in the turret, the driver has to get out. A glitch I think. But it is on LEGENDARY plus considering you are playing on Ragnarok, you are placed in the -Yoink- hole of covies.

What mission are you playing? I may change my opinion.

I never knew that. I’ve have to give that a try sometime.

I’m playing on the first one of episode 8, it’s not even that. You say that you’ll only survive in a wraith for 10 seconds ? if you know how to properly USE a wraith you can survive in one for a VERY long time instead of just driving into the enemies like an idiot.
People really want to level up their Wraith Destroyer commendations

That’s how you get the mortardom achievement.

Not how I got it.

Yea, its almost like there should be a required I.Q. test to play games online. You would think once in a while you would be able to pick up some smart random players, but no. Sadly people still think Legendary is super difficult, but once you beat Laso on a halo game you realize that Legendary is a cakewalk.
here’s a tip on how to get a easy wraith to the people who refuse to think of ways for themselves but this is one of the most effective ways.
Plasma pistol is your friend in SO, if you do not start with one in SO, i pity you.PP the wraith jump on the wraith stand just barely behind the gunner and melee him it takes 2 seconds or less.Jump in the turret immediately jump back out then turn camera to face the tank, then jump into the tank and run that fool that jumped out over for a quick laugh and proceed with the slaughterfest.
If you say that is too hard, then i pity you. This tactic takes a whole freaking 5 seconds and you will have a brand new death machine to have fun in.Why is this too hard i wonder, we may never know. However, i hope that one day, one day, this will become a standard tactic, i can only hope.
Remember, PP Wraith, melee turret guy, jump in turret,Jump out of turret, enter Wraith, and have fun.If you cannot understand this tactic or utilize it… i pity you, NO exceptions.
The Grunt Overlord is forever undefeated.

This getting-in-the-turret approach has worked since Reach, I know that much. It keeps the Wraith at basically full health.

Never knew about it, at all. I’ve always taken out the gunner from a distance, beaten off the top of the wraith, and killed the driver that way.
Maybe some people like to make big explosions and watch debris fly everywhere?
I try to take every opportunity to steal a Wraith while playing Legendary Solo. Saves a lot of pain.
As others have said, EMP it, jump up and punch the gunner to death, get in the turret, kill the driver after he jumps out, and take control of the perfectly good Wraith.

I may be mistaken, but I think you could do the gunner trick as far back as Halo 3.
