In a Halo where players are faster and more agile than ever, it is extremely easy to out-maneuver an enemy vehicle. This first began to develop in Halo: Reach with the addition of sprint as an armor ability, and then again in Halo: 4 with sprint as a default feature. Meanwhile, the vehicles are more or less the same as they’ve always been. Now we’ve reached a point where players can hijack and destroy enemy occupied vehicles with ease.
I am willing to accept this as a necessary change for the evolution of Halo, and I recognize that the newer installments try to provide more open space to compensate for the addition of sprint (although arguably not enough in some cases), but to make hijackers INVINCIBLE?! Is this really necessary?
What happened to being able to smear hijackers alongside cliff ledges with the banshee or blow them off of the wraith in close quarters? These are defensive strategies that have been used since hijacking was first a thing, and now they’ve become completely redundant and I can’t help but to ask, why? Does the hijacker really need that much of an advantage?
In game modes like Warzone in which there is barely enough room to maneuver a scorpion tank, how do you expect the classic slow-moving scorpion to defend against a bunch of Usain Bolts with jetpacks? Teamwork you say? Well, that doesn’t always work as you’ll see in a moment.
In the previous Halo games, hijacking was an art. It required a skillful approach because players had to jog their clunky metal -Yoinks!- over, and now that players finally have a significant advantage over vehicles you’re going to take it a step even further by making them completely invincible to the driver?
And not just to the driver! I have witnessed numerous incidents in which a team has attempted to save their friendly scorpion or wraith by shooting the hijacker only for nothing to happen. Here is an example of one of such cases:

Please, 343, let us kill those pesky hijackers!
Thank you for reading.
Edit:
It seems from other players’ experiences hijackers are not completely invincible, but rather highly damage resistant. My argument still stands, however.
