just a quick question for the images that appear for highest rated of the day: Are they the images uploaded that day with the most likes/recommendations, or the images which recieved the most likes/recommendations on that day?

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking, but if you’re talking about Most Recommended and Most Downloaded, they both show files created within the last week.
