So what do you think is the highest “legit”(i.e. not achieved via cheating or boosting) Kill/Death ratio feasible? Of course, even a 50.0 K/D is plausible, but the likelihood of super-high K/D is so low that it may as well not exist. So at what point do you draw the line and get suspicious of cheating or boosting activity when you look at someone’s K/D? I think a 2.0 K/D is very achievable and the mark of a skilled player(when speaking of slayer gametypes), but I start to get suspicious once the K/D gets past 3.0. After 4.0 I am very sure of illegitimate activity, and 6.0 ensures cheating or boosting. What do you think?
I’ve seen a 3.06 but that is the highest im talking
Look up Wasp Almighty. His is pretty good.

Personally I think 2.0 is a good number to be legit.

it’s all relative…
Pro’s generally show a lower KD because they spend all day playing customs and level 50 hcs…against other pros (1.5+ KD at a pro level is very good)
However, someone who plays bigteam battle all the time and consistently goes +20 might have a much more skewed kd
The fact of the matter, KD doesn’t mean anything, nor does rank, nor does W/L

Personally I think its a blend of both, one person can have a lot of wins but his team carries a lot but when you have a player with 1.5 kd or something I consider them in that “good” category.
Tbh, anything over 1.0 is “good” since your positive. My k/d across mcc is 1.63, I have a friend though with 3.28. No lie, he’s a beast.

i have a high mcc i don’t cheat i think it is legit up to like 9 or 11
According to the theory behind skill-based matchmaking, in a perfect-functioning system with a high population, virtually every player except maybe the top and bottom 1% would have a k/d of exactly 1.0. Anything that varies from that is some kind of a) manipulation of the ranking system, b) manipulation of the inherent imbalances that are structural features of the game or c) proof of the fact that skill-based matchmaking is good in theory and deeply flawed in execution.
There are many examples of “a” but the most obvious is sandbagging your performance in some way thereby convincing the ranking system that you are less skilled than you are and thus ensuring a steady stream of inferior opponents, thus ensuring a high k/d. Many people do this.
There are also many examples of “b” but the most obvious is the “power weapon -Yoink!-” who bulldozes his way through every game with a sniper rifle or a vehicle. This person gets props for aggression and persistence, but is he really a “better” player? This player is always easy to spot. They can’t function without a power weapon, and in older versions of Halo were often to be seen betraying team mates for the weapons they wanted. Many people used to do this, and will again in the not-too-distant future.
“C” is proved by what? By the fact that the system intentionally and arbitrarily rewards certain behaviors while ignoring or marginalizing others? Sure. By the fact that the system has a significant number of wild cards baked into it that will ensure an artificially widened skill gap? Sure.
Bottom line, though, is that for all of these reasons, and many others, the entire concept of a “legitimate” k/d is highly suspect. Don’t put too much weight behind it.

Hewl nah, you ain’t legit if you’re playing against equally skilled opponents. Your K/D is 6.572. 111 total matches, 2504 kills, 381 deaths. That means 22 or 23 kills per match on average. That’s only achievable in 3 ways: 1)Cheating, 2)Playing BTB and quitting out of matches that don’t match you against 10-year-olds, or 3)Doing the same in Team Snipers playlist.
Question for others: Do custom games stats add to your K/D on your Halo Waypoint profile?

Yep.
I’d say 3-3.5 is probably the highest you’ll see that isn’t a booster. I judge skill based on kills per match too. I get lots of kills per game but tend to also get lots of deaths too and my k/d ratio, well, leaves a lot to be desired.

That’s ridiculous. That should NOT be the case. Halo 5 better not have that either. All K/Ds should be separated per gametype, matchmaking and custom.

I say that players should only be able to see their kill total. Not their death total. It makes people play afraid to die instead of playing to win. I hate it when my team needs a clutch play but the k/d camper is nowhere to be found
Just found out customs can affect your K/D if not def your W/L to me thats dumb.
I (xXxSCORPIONxXx7) have a k/d of 165 on the master chief collection
It sure as hell isn’t me in H5 LoL - 1.15 in Arena
Halotracker shows you a bunch of leaderboards by playlist if such stats interest you. Team Arena Top 99 K/D ratios range anywhere from 1.92 to 20.66 - you have to have played a minimum of 50 games for that board.
Vetoed is at 1.46 and he’s playing High Level Onyx / Champion in just about every playlist.
Naded is sitting on 1.65 overall and 1.78 in Team Arena this season at Champion
