In my games versus AI and also versus other players I really often notice that my teammates or opponents nearly produce no units to rush or to counter a rush.
I think it’s because of the low tech 2 costs.
As the Arbiter I never hit tech 2 before the 8 minute. I produce Enforcers with Infantry tech 1. With Base turrets it’s easy to defend the most kind of rushes (I also spy my enemies).
In the 8 minute I defended in a 3v3 game a rush of hellbringers and marines, mixed with Ghost with Shields and two level 1 veteran Goliath.
I lost about 2/3 of my Enforcers but during defending I used the teleport and passive Rage leader Power to troll my enemies.
I produced more Enforcers in the Background and send ten of them to take one enemy out of the game. In 10 minutes.
My teammates were both nearly tech 3 but had no units. I had to do the whole work.
I think it would be good to increase the costs for the tech Levels so that players are forced to spy their enemies and produce units.
Tech 2: 1.000 Power = 1.250 or 1.400 Power
Tech 3: 1.500 Power = 1.750 or 2.000 Power
If you say now no - please tell me why. It really sucks when I am the victim of the match because I have two allies who rushes for tech 3 and got wrecked.
Or, other solition - 3v3 playlists just with a Team of 3 to have a Team versus Team match and a 3v3 playlist where all players are randomly and you can not search with friends - just like HW 1.
PS; we have enough players for one more playlist and a changed playlist.
I have learnt tons since starting to play this game about 2 months ago, including that team mates that rush to tech up make it difficult to effectively put the enemy under early pressure. I’ve lost several games where it has been pretty much just me fighting whilst teammates have next to no units. I’m not good enough to 1v3 lol!
I say no the costs shouldn’t go up. Not every leader has good options in T1 like Arbiter does, not to mention the fact that if your teammates just sit there teching without building units that’s more on them not really understanding how to play then a flaw in game design.

Most of them (leaders) have good options (in my opinion) in T1 (if you know how to play). Of course Arbiter/Colony have a really big advantage but having a combination like Anders, Arbiter and Atriox (lol tripple A) is also effective.
Because of that, in my opinion, it should be harder to reach the next Tech level so that those players get more punished if they rush for techs.
A good alternative would be a second playlist like 3v3 Random and 3v3 Team.

I’d be ok with another playlist rather than changing the cost of teching up.
Quick tech still needs to be possible, that strategy is a stable in any RTS. Changing that right now would throw balance and gameplay into a crazy flux, which is the last thing the game needs right now.
