High Shop Prices Are A Marketing Ploy

It’s called price anchoring. They know the shop prices are absurd and don’t expect anyone but the fattest of whales to pay them. The intent is to make the slightly less overpriced (but still overpriced) items like the battlepass seem reasonable by comparison. People who fall for it are still paying too much money for too little content, but are still fooled into thinking they got a good deal because they didn’t fall for the intentionally obvious scam items.
