i’m looking to learn a bit more/improve micro a bit on any game type and have noticed that just playing with top players has improved my game play dramatically compared to figuring it out on my own
as of now i’m pretty much stuck reverting to the brute chieftain if i want to win any competitive games and i’m REALLY starting to hate using that monkey…

things i would never have figured out on my own are things like say…that upgrading pads for cutter when double basing is usually not beneficial in highly competitive games…anders 2x base gauss rushes…in general,very useful stuff 
What top players have you played with?
i dont know that any of them play anymore but i have played mostly with deadlock/cubzsuck/asaiyen or something along those lines
havnt played with them in a few months but i can say that after 5-6 games of playing/learning their builds my ts jumped from upper 20s to upper 30s…
as of now id say im a tier 2 player(better then most but not as good as those that play competitively at the top)
Hey I know this is sorta random but this thread gave me a idea
if we could find some people who find themselves at a high rank or just feel they could teach in Halo Wars I’d be up to find a mentor myself I’m a complete noob I mean I’ve just not gotten to the last mission in campaign and even though I’m not great at the game I have alot of fun playing but I have nobody to play with and honestly everyone I play against it seems just pulls a scarab out and attaches Hurgarok like crazy and well…I get slaughtered and I REALLY wanna get into halo wars
I love the fact that theres still a big group playing Wars and I would like to join their ranks but Im so behind the curve that I need some help
so I prepose that we to get some mentor student relationships started in the community? anybody?

his build: supply pad,temple,SHIELD(while he was the one in the middle on deen and i also happened to be covy)

as a new player you should play a dozen or more live games…yes you will probably (almost certainly) get destroyed/killed but until someone has the basics down ive found it EXTREMELY difficult to teach people…
