High Charity post-war

Had High Charity not been consumed by the flood and survived the civil war, would it have made any real impact with the end of the war?

Doubtful.

After the keyship pulled away from High Charity. It was really nothing more than a giant mushroom floating in space. The generators seen in Halo 3 were believed to have given it the ability to enter slipspace, but that was retconned when the Flood’s origin as Precursors were revealed. I can’t remember where I read it, but the gravemind used Precursor “magic” to power High Charity so that it could get to the Ark.

Now in a figurative scenario.

Remember the Covenant are by no means “unified” after the Human-Covenant War. Brutes and Elites are going at each others throats wasting war assets even though they should be more than capable of maintaining or building new ships. I never liked the retcon of how they are all useless after the Prophets and Engineers “disappeared” even though they’ve been space faring for hundreds of years but… whatever.

High Charity would only have been a constant warzone or destroyed.

Why do I say that? Simple after the Elites were betrayed, I imagine they’d view the space station as an insult. It was after all only built after the Elites and Prophets made peace with one another and then the caste system was made. Prophets were “superior” and the Elites were “inferior” being sent to fight and die for a false belief called the “Great Journey”. That is my opinion though.

I doubt the sangheili would so easily destroy something that has a part of their history for thousands of years. Billions lived within the city, along with vast treasures of forerunner relics and of course various holy sites. Had the battle with the fleet gone for the sangheili after the shock wore off, think they would view the station as something to keep.

If high charity was not consumed by the flood it would’ve been scavanged for supplies just like in HW2.
