Okay, I’ve never seen anyone talk about this before, and I’ve never seen footage of what I just noticed.
While I was playing SpOps(Episode 6, Ch. 3 “The Warrens”) I was given the option to sneak up and assassinate the enemy Grunts guarding the beginning of the mission. I didn’t know if it was for Legendary only, or if I had simply never noticed it, but I was surprised. After all at the start of the mission Palmer normally tells you to “Run and gun”.
Now if you go right and sneak up on the Zealot using the terminal, it will prompt you to activate it. Doing so calls in an airstrike from the Covenant Cruiser nearby, killing all the enemies outside.
Here’s what I want to know, are there other missions like this? Because I found this really cool, and I know many people on here hate how SpOps appears so not replayable, but this could change that at least for a while.
whoah. i knew you had the option to go in stealth-like, but i was never in a game that went all the way through the area undetected and called in an airstrike. that’s pretty sweet!
> What are the odds that the average mouth breather can manage to do that? let alone you getting 3 in one game at the same time though?
It’s really easy actually. Just beat down or assassinate the 4 or 5 grunts, then keep crouching until you’re behind the Zealot, kill him, then hit the panel.
I really want to find out if there are more of these on the other missions. The first few times I played it, I was confused that it wanted me to kill all the enemies nearby stealthily, but after my third or so run-through I found it.
If 343 put this into only one mission throughout ALL of Spartan Ops, I’d be more surprised.
