I’ve played through Fireteam Raven for the first time recently. A fun experience to be sure, though it seemed to be quite a straightforward arcade shooter. Makes me wonder if there are any secrets hidden throughout the game if at all. I’ve noticed, particularly in the last three levels, there would be some enemies that would appear in the background that have no intent on hitting any players and is not required to be killed before the scene moves on and it has me thinking if any of these extra enemies might be triggers for something else if players went out of their way to ensure they die or something. And to be clear, I’m not referring to the mass of background characters you can pick off as they retreat or as you come up to a massive battle scene such as falcon bits in the Two Betrayal-esque level or the Covenant fleeing whilst you have rockets at the end of the Pillar of Autumn raid mission. It’s during regular shooting gallery segments where you clearly have several enemies lining up directly in front who will damage you, but there will be enemies that appear in the background that have no seeming intent of attacking the player and instead look like they’re interacting with the environment from a peculiar spot. The one that stands out most from memory at this point is an Elite Flood Combat Form perched on a rock seemingly waving in Flood forms to attack you during the Final Stand mission whilst perched on a rock. Things like that…
Obviously, it’s a likely possibility that the only purpose of enemies positioned like that are for the sake of additional targets to rack up a higher score, but this being Halo who knows… Anyone else have similar thoughts on the matter of there possibly being secrets in the game along with possible theories to try out for the next playthrough?
