Hidden Crags map now published

Hi all, just published my new map, Hidden Crags. Please feel free to test it out and leave me any feedback here.

It’s a smallish BTB map, or a large 4v4 map, supporting Slayer ,Oddball, CTF, KOTH, Strongholds, Stockpile.

gotta link ?

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Not sure how to do that… made it on my series x…

Did a search in the Content Browser for “Crags” and it was the only result.

I played a 15 min. bot match on the map. It was fun. Thank you!

Feedback:
I like the scale and concept of the map. It has good bones and lots of fun terrain.

Good amount of cover, on big rocky areas or in the open.

I enjoyed the use of trees and flora, especially where it was hanging from the cliff walls.

The bots were able to navigate over all the different surfaces of the map. Nice. They were bunching up at first but then seemed to spread out in the map after their first deaths.

The covenant tank was so OP against the bots that I felt guilty and got out after getting 30 in a row.

I liked the “organic” weapon spawn where a fallen marine had dropped his pistol & rifle in his little fox hole, similar to what you might see in campaign open world.

Suggestions:
Some of the exterior of the map seemed to lack intention, as though built with placeholders to take up room on the very large play area. Some editing, revamping, or maybe bringing in the walls of the canyon could help.

The camera that shows a view of the map during initial game start needs to be adjusted. It was clipping another object and the camera view was shaking like an earthquake.

Some of the plants near the center rocks were floating, and a few looked funny because they were scaled up a bit too much.

There was a lot of UI markers and announcer messages regarding the weapons because of the kind of weapon pads that were used. Not sure if it was intentional to have so many nav markers and to have announcements each time BR75 spawns.

It was confusing to find the covenant tank spawns facing the exterior wall, in a low area. It was hard to turn around and get out of there. The map is so rugged that you can only move the tank when boosting it.

The recessed cave should have something cooler in it than Repulsor equipment pad. First because the cave is cool and needs something equally cool to go inside. Secondly because it’s out of the way and player should be rewarded for going in there.

Thanks, some good pointers there. I also found the announcements annoying but wasn’t sure why there were so many. I was sure I turned the wraith around to face the right way… must have been on a different version. Interesting about dead space like placeholders have been used, I’ll have to give that some thought. As for the camera shake, I can’t seem to prevent that no matter where I place it.

I’ve updated this map with some improvements and taken a proper screenshot. Please go and give it a play!

For some reason you can only find the map by searching “crags”… the word “hidden” comes up with no results! Weird.
