Don’t just the thread based on the title, I just wanted a friendly intro.
I mean, I’ve been playing for years, just years, and it’s had major ups and downs for me. Ups being the great times I had on Halo 2 playing Infection (as it was meant to be played) on maps like Backwash. Ups being Using the Brute Shot in Halo 3.
Downs being Halo Reach…
But guys…Halo 4 is a good game. Like from a technical standpoint and from a gamer perspective (and I have played a LOT of video games over the years). It took what was great about past Halos and the 1 or 2 things they got right from Reach and blended them rather effectively into a cohesive, viable FPS with numerous features that improve replayability.
Now it’s not perfect. The theater mode has too many limitations, as does the custom games settings, and the File Share system is really poorly done.
But the gameplay is solid. There’s no logical reason for this much hate other than pure silly nerdraging. Someone gets mad because a guy is using Promethean Vision and a Bolt Shot on Abridged (this frustrates me more than anything so I used it as an example). Someone is using a light rifle while camo thus exploiting a glitch (don’t even say this sort of thing is gamebreaking, I played all the Halos and I remember CE and 2). Too many people are using the all-too-easy to use DMR.
These things and more are very frustrating, but they don’t mean the game is bad. Its the players. People will find the easiest ways to win and make themselves look good in the stats department, and if you don’t want to do the same things, then fine. You just have to get to a skill level that allows you to use your own tactics to win against people using things to get an edge. It’s always possible. There are ways to counter Bolt Shots. You just have to relax and quit playing the blame game and focus on your own set of skills to get you through to a point where you’re having fun again.
Please stop raging blindly about things that you don’t like, we all have qualms with some aspect of the game. But the game is good. It has my seal of approval and I don’t impress easily.
