Hi/Skyjacking in WZFF (I got a phaeton boss)

I used a Void’s Tear on Sanctum round 4 on one of the three phaeton bosses and it actually worked. I had a couple of questions.

  1. Where else does this work? I am particularly interested in phaetons and banshees.

  2. Do you have to use Void’s Tear or will any plasma pistol work?

Congrats, never knew those were jackable.

I would assume that you can use any EMP but as far as I know you normally cant jack AI vehicles. Perhaps unique to the Phaeton?

It must be the voids tear as I have tried using the normal plasma pistol and when the EMP effect wears off I get spattered.

Did the boss get out of the Phaeton or was he still in it when you jacked it?

This is a very strange mechanic, what causes the vehicle and boss to behave in such a way?

I think he got out rather than me pulling him out, but I am not sure. If you look at my game history and watch the video, you may be able to tell. It is my most recent game on Sanctum. Fourth round.

Wish you had a clip to share, I would’ve love to see that. Anyways that’s pretty neat!

In round 3 I played the bosses of the phaeton but I checked long ago if I could get on and I couldn’t, so I just killed them and the phaetons disappeared, here is the clip

It was the fastest round ever done I think

Normally when a boss exits their vehicle the vehicle will self destruct. That’s strange that it just became unoccupied instead.

I have seen in another game that the Phaetons in this specific wave are somewhat strange as it’s a drivable version of the Phaeton. This is in contrast to most of the other Phaeton bosses which are using a much more powerful variant of the Phaeton which has a higher resistance to damage and cannot be jacked.

I may have pulled him out. I am not sure. I definitely pulled the soldier out in the one from the video above.

The boss phaeton I got had vehicle targeting and better armor (I think). It was not as good as a Helios, but better than a regular phaeton.

I tried to do the jump from a wasp on round 2 Prospect, but the phaeton got destroyed before I could get there. I tried to jump from my banshee to a boss banshee in round 4 on Temple, but I missed. If I can get one again, I will post video.

Perhaps we should make a list of vehicles that can be jacked? The phaetons on Sanctum round 4 and round 5 (harbingers) can be jacked. The phaeton on round 3 Temple can not be jacked. I am not sure about any other top vehicles.
