Ive spent 500-700? roughly on fortnite because they know how to do business properly and well they know how to satisfy a customer they arent like a garbage early 20th century monopoly with horrible quality control letting anything and everything go like halo infinite does
like they dont make a million variants of the same cosmetic with the smallest of differences solely to have far more content to sell. they dont typically release crap low quality cosmetics. they have a degree of standards unlike halo infinite does
ive spent -$15 dollars yes negative on halo infinite related things. I managed to get +15 due to a poor experience from a bad product on amazon.
I spent -$15 on all things halo post halo infinite beta release with my own money due to the horrible business practices, lack of quality control and horrible overall game, as much as you want to lie to yourself thinking this truly is the most amazing game of all time with perfect development.
and originally I came in thinking id spend 300 on halo infinite right after release to find out how crap it was overall and decided against it. soon ill be spending another 80 on fortnite vbucks
in addition you get more bang for your buck from fortnite relatively speaking compared to halo infinite. even at the beginning release of fortnite they made it so you get life time vbucks annually if you bought the game early on and their season pass omg has bonus vbucks to spend in the store

2 other things I love about fortnite is omg you can refund cosmetics 3 times a year for 30 days O: So if for some reason you decide you dont like an outfit you can refund it omg
but with halo infinite if we buy something and try it out and it turns out to not fit in with the outfit we wanted we cant refund it and get our points back.
another thing WE CAN BUY STUFF FOR OUR FRIENDS WITH VBUCKS we can gift people O:
unlike halo infinite because they want to force us to buy game pass to buy our own points for a lower price

I think 343 trying to position Infinite to compete with Fortnite and CoD was naive with their current company configuration.
CoD has like 11 support studios, and Fortnite has a bunch of EPIC studios doing support work too.
You can rally see the difference between 1 main studio executing live service vs a main studio with 5+ support studios executing a live service.

What? You mean studios have to do more than slap a “live service” label on their games?
It is glaringly obvious to all of us that 343 set themselves up for failure, and I still don’t think they realize that they were, and still are, in way over their heads.

The rumor mill at my work is saying somebodies’ kid just spent $300-$400 on Fortnite. I know I would be pissed.
OT and thats nothing if you know how to manage your money
People talk about the money they do and don’t spend on halo… a McDonald’s meal deal costs the same as the battle pass. What did you spend your money on today? Is it more prudent than if I choose to spend my money on colors I enjoy looking at, or help me focus, or whatever the heck I want to with my cosmetics… I also love playing the game. why are people so obsessed about what someone else does and doesn’t do? I ride or die with you Halo… true OG
Something like 70% of US house holds can’t afford an unexpected $600 expense in a one month period. The most statistically likely reasons are excessive average housing costs as well as unexpected medical bills and inflated medication prices.
I feel like claiming “$300 isn’t a large expense if you know how to manage money”, is a pretty reductionist statement and includes very little empathy towards large volumes of persons who have had statistically random events impact their lives. That’s my two cents on that matter.

if you micromanage your money and dont overpay for stuff and try to get the best deals/ and dont bleed money like forgetting to return something that you have to pay monthly for or paying for a subscription every you stopped using a while ago etc
@WhoLikesChicken
if you spend without too much thought and heavily focus on need wants and not the managing aspect of money you will bleed a lot of money and in turn not have much
I understood the initial comment your referring to here to mean the kid spent the money without the parents knowledge or permission. That’s a lot even if you are good at managing your money.
Now if the parents OK’d the purchase then that is a different story.

I viewed it as him trying to get at me for spending so much on fortnite. and possibly thinking im a kid using a parents card. Given any other reason the comment is irrelevant to the post
Naw. If it’s your money, spend it how you like. I don’t think anyone is taking a shot at you for that.
Anyways, back on point. I agree with your first post. I also came into this game expecting to drop some cash to support the game, but it was obvious real quick that 343 hadn’t earned my money yet.
