all i ever seem to see is people complaining about how the DMR is OP or how terribley easy weekly challenges are
i’m bad at this game, in fact i’m terrible at this game and there’s plenty of people out there who are also not some -Yoink!- halo god
i can’t hit every shot on the head, i can’t throw my grenades perfectly and i sure as hell can’t go 20-5 k/d in every damn match
the dmr kills to quickly? i see plenty of people, myself included, who don’t land every shot so the DMRs faster kill time it moot because everything now comes down to who can get lucky and get the hits on the other person
that get 18 precision weapon kills in a match, i never get more then 10 kills in a match let alone with 1 type of weapon and i’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who is in the same boat as me
i remember when halo reach had -Yoink!- stupidly hard challenges, LASO? lol i barely get through legendary as it is and still haven’t done H4 co op or solo legendary yet…
> And this is why the game is failing, catering to bad people. Reach’s LASO were easy except for The Package and LNOS.
nope
being bad at a game doesn’t make a a bad person it just means i’m not good at the game, if anything it makes you a bad person by judging people for it
and how is it catering? they’re still challenging to get
and there’s just as many bad players as there is good players, your 10.0 k/d? yeah 10 people had to die for that and while it’s not 1v1 where you’d be 10.0 and he’d be 0.1 k there’s a finite pool of players and it all equals out to for every one person doing good there’s one person doing bad
Yeah I see your point and we actually need more people to play this game so the community can grow and if they can’t train themselves by getting a few easier challenges for exp or just play the campaign on easier difficulties then most people will just leave the game and not come back. So yeah to get new ‘good’ players we need new players.

Appealing to Casual Gamers = More money, but after 3 months, no one plays the game
Appealing to Hardcore Gamers = Longevity of game, people will be playing it a year after, but casual gamers feel alienated and won’t buy the game.

I have done my fair share of complaining about the difficulty level of this game, but I hear your point OP. Yes, you shouldn’t be made incapable of playing Halo because it is too difficult. Even the worst players, from someone’s grandmother to a 12 year old with broken thumbs should be given SOME opportunities to succeed and get better at the game. And Halo has had those opportunities going back to the CE days.
Difference is, while in the past Halo has had options for both lower and higher skilled players to play and have fun, Halo 4 seems to be offering only options which make the game more enjoyable for lower tier players while excluding those of higher skill. I consider myself of average skill, but an easy campaign, spartan ops, and a lot of easy challenges combined with lack of a visible skill based ranking system can sometimes make aspects of the game boring because they offer little incentive for me to improve.
Ideally the game should have something to offer for players across the entire skill spectrum. Sadly, though, it seems to be one sided. Hence the complaints you mentioned.

> Did you make a thread just to tell us you’re not very good at the game? I’m confused
no i made this thread to inform all the people with an over sized ego that not everyone is the best halo player and that players who aren’t as good should still be given opportunities just like the better players
how about you stop being a -Yoink- and either comment constructively or go away

Err, it was a genuine question. I didn’t get any of that from your original post since you didn’t mention anything about equal opportunities in the game, you just listed ways in which you lack skill.

No H2 was the real equilibrium where the casual and hardcore community got along. H3 fundamentally changed the competitive core of the game and was blatantly watered down to appeal to a larger audience. The equilibrium does not exist when the game is catered towards lesser skilled players like recent Halo titles have done. Halo was built off balanced gameplay fundamentals very much a competitive game, the farther it goes away from that the worst it will become because Halo is a game based on flow.

Yep! Halo 3 is still riding that gravy train of longevity, ain’t it?

How about you quit crying like a little -Yoink-? Life isn’t fair and balanced.
Thanks for crying on the forums and telling us you suck.
I only played a few matches on MM in Halo 4, but as an average player it is a bit sad to see when someone is targeted for being “bad” or having an off match. Still learning the maps but if one match you get 200 pts but the next match you only get 60 pts cause you cant find anyone, you get a message from a team mate who proceeds to trash talk you. Those with an Ego problem need to learn sportsmanship, this game might not be for everyone, but every type of person plays it.
From the explorers, easter egg finders, competitive, casual, those who want to play for fun, those who go for the objective, or those who just want to do story missions. Everyone is just so damn judgmental and are quick to bully you over the internet.

I’m with you on everything except the DMR bit. Just played a game of Regicide on Haven and half the players have DMR’s. Now this is a supposed long ranged rifle being used in close quarters. The weapon performs amazingly at all ranges and can beat almost any gun. With a DMR you can move from medium to close range without any problems and still out gun most other weapons, including the AR which is built for this.
The challenges seems to be fairly balanced at the mo, I like the fact that one of them is hard and the other should be achievable by anyone, take the complete 4 matchmaking games challenge we have today.
As to not everyone being good, you’re right, and that fact needs to be remembered. But you have to remember that the game needs to cater for it’s hardcore fanbase, otherwise you end up like ghost recon with less than 10000 players globally at peak times. This isn’t a go play CoD answer but that’s for the casual gamer who wants it easy this is a game with a shelf life of 2 years or more and it will only continue after 6 months of they appeal to the right fanbase
