Hey, everyone. Need to know what exactly I can do about this. I am looking for help specifically from 343i, but anyone is welcome to post suggestions/ideas. My Reach File Share hasn’t been working lately, and it tells me that I cannot post there because my GT is banned from XBL. I don’t see why, as I can still do Matchmaking, parties, chat, etc. I know this is the MM forum, but I need help here and this is the closest thing. I know this is a common problem lately and I hope 343i notices and fixes it soon. IT IS NOT AN MS PROBLEM. I say that only because if it were MS, I would’ve been given a message stating that I had to change my GT.

Actually, your quite wrong, it is a MS problem, some part of your gamertag has been added to the Xbox LIVE Censor, try putting your Gamertag in your motto, it won’t allow you to.
Also, just because your name is offensive, doesn’t mean you will automatically be able to change your tag, the fact that I do still think the Xbox LIVE Censor is still broken adding random things to the Censor and not forcing people to change their gamertags supports me.

The system is horribly broken. The word “nerd” is probably considered offensive. 343 added to the various filters recently, so unless you want to change your gamertag, you’ll unfortunately have to deal with it.
Actually, it is not a MS problem, as when I called they told me that while there was a filter to the word ‘nerd’, it should not affect me, as I had the GT before the filter was put in place. The guy I got ahold of was actually surprised at my problem and went through all the steps he knew of as well as went to see if he could find something else to try, and came back saying that if I cannot upload the file, someone on the same xbox can upload their own file, but cannot upload mine, then it was a problem with the 343i filters. And if you ask me, if Xbox says that I can keep my GT and use all the features of XBL, I should be able to upload files on Reach. The thing that actually confused both me and him is that I can still play Matchmaking and play with friends, I just cannot upload files to my File Share that I created.

Yes, because the Support team knows what they are talking about. They have never been right about any of my problems, ever.

Ok, first of all if you have a GT ban from Microsoft and Xbox LIVE, they would have sent you an email telling you why you suffered it and to what features it is reffered to. So check your emails. If you find nothing there, then you should refer to this thread because 343 is the only one who can un-do your ban.

it’s not a username ban. “nerd” has been added to the censor filter making it so the OP can’t utilize their file share. very pointless.
