Hey look, the store is selling a REACH bundle for 10 dollars that should've been part of the battle pass

Yeah, except NONE of that was true. I managed to make huge maps back in the early days of Halo 4, and here’s the thing, Halo 4’s Forge at launch, was and still is better than 90% of Halo 5’s Forge. The only things Halo 5’s Forge has that is better are:

  • Welding

  • Grouping

  • Scripting

Everything else, Halo 4 did better, even the UI. In all honesty Halo 4 gets way too much trash, it’s a good game, it’s just not great for competitive, but here’s the thing that a lot of Halo players haven’t really figured out:

Competitive players, as in ranked/pro players are NOT the majority of the community, in fact they never have been, CE started off as strictly custom games and while yes it had competitive players, there was no actual competitiveness until Halo 2. And even then Halo 2’s most popular mode was Infection, a fan made mode simply for dumb, laid back fun. The best kind of fun if you ask me.

Halo 3 was the first truly competitive Halo game, and honestly it’s why I dislike it the most, keeping in mind I still love it as a game. But Halo was never popular for it’s competitive play, it was always know for those crazy, wacky game types you see floating around action sack, because those modes are what made Halo stand out from games like Call of Duty or Battlefield.

Halo 4 imo was one of the top 3 best Halo games, the others imo being 2A and Reach. Not because of their matchmaking, but because how much they respected the player, and how much they respected the franchise.

Now do I think removing bolshot and active camo from H4 loadouts would fix a lot of problems? Absolutely! 1 shot weapons should NEVER be spawn weapons outside of action sack and Fiesta. But there were modes without loadouts too.

yeah okay buddy, I’m not going to continue any further here. Next thing you’ll do is tell me how great the gameplay was lol.

Halo 4 was a dumpster fire in Halo form, imagine if Infinite was coming out and the only mode it had was Battle Royale? That was the sort of game that Halo 4 was, if you loved CoD then it was fun, but as a Halo game it was straight up garbage. I know that you think your being clever by defending trash games, but all you are really doing is being content with little content.

Edit: Also, I got it midnight too. You are not special. I remember just how disappointing it was to fans. 50% drop in population after 2 weeks is just sad but unsurprising considering that it had no soul.

Im so disgusted by this game and company

Halo 4 was a GOOD game. The only people who don’t think so are people who have their heads up Halo 3’s cheeks. Maybe if you took your nostalgia blinders off long enough to actually try and find something to enjoy on Halo 4 rather than just hate on it for no good reason, you’d like it too.

Killstreaks, loadouts, random ordinances (in 4v4), trash maps (besides Haven) and at the time it had some insanely long kill times and an OP sprint that made engagements horrid. I played it for a few months, hit max rank, then moved on (like most people did)

Its BTB was fun, assuming you weren’t playing against an 8 stack or something. So yeah it wasn’t complete trash, but easily the worst Halo game in my opinion.

First off long TTK in Halo 4?! Funniest joke I’ve heard in years! Secondly OP Sprint?! You do realize without the Mobility ability Sprint worked exactly the same as it did in Reach right? Mobility gives you unlimited sprint. And even then Infinite sprint isn’t a bad thing. Look at 5 and Infinite, both of which have Infinite Sprint.

So with your spend nothing logic, you are single handily going to make halo infinite die, if the answer is no then shut up

This is a very strange way to debate.

If everyone spent nothing they would have to change the model completely. Obviously that’s not going to happen, but if not enough people buy they might at least lower prices and consider doing things a little differently. One person can’t do that on their own of course, but without people buying nothing, nothing will change.

I wouldn’t mind if it was lowering the prices

these microtransaction will be the death of this game. we got some lame answer as to why they went that direction but the truth is its just sleazy business

I don’t think microtransactions is the right word. These are just transactions. A 5-20 dollar purchase is not micro.

a microtransaction is anything you pay extra for in a video game outside of the initial purchase. yes i get that this multiplayer beta was “free” but nobody asked to have a incomplete game released early. MCC did it, and continues to do it right. you pay one price for the game and they add free stuff all the time.

no reach EOD or operator in the bundle was a missed opportunity

No, a microtransaction refers to a particular type of transaction. There is a reason people don’t refer to Old World Blues or Far Harbor as Microtransactions. They are expensive, and contain a lot of content. Microtransactions by contrast are cheap with typically little content. There is even a wikipedia page about this. Heck, it’s in the name "micro"transaction. Here’s the definition from wikipedia “Micro-transactions, often abbreviated as mtx, are a business model where users can purchase virtual goods with micropayments.” If the price stops being small, then they stop being microtransactions.

You do realize that it was awful in Reach right? Okay? So how exactly is giving it to everyone better than giving it to someone via loadout? Now if you want to say that Reach was superior to 4 then fine, but that argument is bad.

Halo 5 made it so you couldn’t recharge your shields when sprinting, Infinite sprint is like half the speed of Halo 4/Reach’s. I am not saying that sprint is good for Halo, I am saying that it had a far worse impact in Reach/4 than in 5/Infinite (because it wasn’t balanced properly back then)

You forgot that the game originally had a 5 shot kill BR? That’s a you problem.

Here’s a spreadsheet that covers what the TTK was in Halo 4. (ttps://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/12ut14/halo_4_weapon_damage_spreadsheet/)

As you can see, Halo 4 BR was like 1.75, whereas Infinite (out of the box) is like 1.3 or something. Now if you play MCC Halo 4 isn’t as slow, but at launch it was very time consuming to kill anything because of a combination of factors. These are just facts dude, if you want to argue that slower TTK is better then that’s cool, but my overall point that Halo 4 made gunfights super annoying checks out.

Doesn’t everyone? :3
