Hey 343i, what the hell am I supposed to do now?

I just hate that I’m going to screw over people. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s fun in Halo, because then what’s the point of playing?
Unfortunately, I hate AR starts slightly more than screwing over people by using a smurf account. Maybe the best option is to stop playing completely and go back to MCC, even though I love the way that Infinite feels.

Right, so you play with them 100% of the time…
How often do they play?

Why don’t you help them improve? A silver player playing with someone that much better than them for a long period of time should pick stuff up…or…if you’ve helped give advice, watched theater togethert etc. That would definitely help both players, and yourself tighten the gap between you all. I can’t imagine it’s all that fun being the constant silver player of the team not really being able to do anything the entire match all the while you’re probably having the time of your life.

I appreciate that you think 2 mothers with several children have enough time to improve at the game. They don’t want to spend the precious couple of hours a day playing custom games to increase their skill level. They don’t care about their rank. They don’t care if they’re silver or diamond, they just want to have fun playing BR starts in Halo. We’ve been doing it since 2004 and we’re not going to spend our precious few hours fighting each other for the 1 BR spawn in Quickplay.

1-2 hours a day in the evening, when their kids are asleep. When school and sports are going on, then probably 1-2 hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This is why i don’t play PvP. One there aren’t enough game modes. Two if i play PvP i want to do it with friends and family. But they all have family and jobs. Three i just don’t find PvP fun to play since Halo 4, Halo 5 was okay with friends. But the best one was Halo 3 by far. I wish Bot botcamp was better or even changed to firefight or even a PvE Warzone deal. I also wish the bots were better.

Guess you have to stop playing then, bye!

I’d say just try to get them to rank up. If you like BR starts then you might just have to play team slayer. If you want objectives, then you may want to consider finding some other people (potentially through the Halo Discord) that would join a custom game with you.

I cant play with my friends anymore either. None of us like AR/Pistol starts either. Hope they add a permanent non-ranked BR mode otherwise i dont think ill be playing much anymore

This makes ZERO sense. You’re not being asked to spend hours on it. Nice exaggeration. If you don’t have the decency to at LEAST give some pointers, then that’s your problem. A little knowledge goes a LONG way in the game. I’m almost 40 years old with my own stuff goin on as well. If you’ve played halo with them for THAT many years and have spent absolutely NONE of that time helping them understand some of the basics out…that’s a HUGE shame on you. Though I’m sure the game is fun for you to watch a silver run around like a chicken without its head while you get all the kills while the enemies are occupied tho.

Keep doing you buddy. If you want to continue playing with them, well do what you gotta do. Be it an honest way, or dishonest. Whatever floats your boat.

It’s been like that for 16 years. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

I suggest learning how to be effective with other weapon types, because the chances of 343 changing their decision or adding a BR-only Social mode are slim to none.
Also don’t blame 343 if you’ve been absent from the new games and only are comfortable using the BR. that’s a personal issue

If you don’t play the way 343 dictates that you should play, then no fun for you!

343 fails to realize that it was exactly the ability to have fun with the sandbox in ways the developer never imagined/intended that helped Halo reach a “broader audience” 10 years ago.

Instead they want to be the dictators of fun and tell you how you should have fun playing Halo.

A silver and a gold can’t learn ? Tons of room for growth right there. That’s more than just having a better shot that can be improved. I’ve played with people in their late 30s and 40s and have seen them improve a lot from lower rankings. Of course having a friend who actually cares goes a long way. I hope they have a friend like that some day who doesn’t just see them as old dogs to be held as meat shields that can’t be taught anything new. How sad to say that about them.

Nice try at a cop out though.

Goodluck.

Wow it’s almost like Ranked isn’t designed for loose sandbox fun but instead a competitive experience that focuses on a balanced sandbox

It’s almost like 343 refuses to want players to have the tools to play they want to play. You must play the way 343 wants you to play.

Want to play with BR starts with your friends? Too bad. No fun for you.

Want to have fun jumping on your friends’ heads? Too bad. No fun for you.

Want to fly a Pelican? Too bad. No fun for you. Oh just go play another game.

Want to play a game with low Ping where you can actually shoot what you’re aiming at? Too bad. No fun for you.

And the list goes on…

What the Halo Veterans (like myself I am one) need to start accepting is that we have several other Halo games already that we can go back and play (and if you wanted to have BR starts, you can just make a custom game with those settings and invite people). Honestly not every single Halo game has to be completely traditional anymore, you can go back to MCC or Halo 5 and play them there. I know your going to say “but I want to play BR starts in the most current Halo game”, the thing is 343 does what they want that is new and creative to try out. I am sure they will rotate in traditional BR starts playlists but its only going to be rotational probably.

And they only play with you as well?

Sorry fo rthe 20 questions, just trying tp paint a picture here

You can always go back MCC uaha

In Halo: Infinite, yes. They like phone games, so we only play Infinite when we can all play together.
Our kids also play on our accounts, but they only play Quickly and SWAT.
I’d really hate myself if I asked my child to play ranked to lower my rank. That would be such a -Yoink!- move on my part.
