Hey 343, you’re challenges are bad, and it proves that you arent actually “listening”

While I don’t really like the challenge system it’s hilarious to see people say stuff like “force players to die to be able to get killjoy”… They are forcing any thing. If you choose to die intentionally to try and get kill joy medals that is on you. Yeah I don’t like what is pretty much random chance for some challenges BUT wouldn’t it be pretty lame if the challenge is get mangler kills and then you are put right in a game with say mangler starting weapons, that wouldn’t really be a challenge at all. The challenges should probably be more like MCC challenges where they aren’t so specific and you can get most of them in not such a specific way. Examples, still rolling challenge is to get multi kill medals, or the objective challenge where you have to get certain objective medals. Granted then people would probably complain at how stale challenges get since they have to be so broad as to avoid the RNG factor but it would be better than these challenges where you have to hope to get a game where the challenge is even possible to get.

Then increase the amount of kills for the challenge.

All they have to do to avoud RNG factor is to take away the random playlists. Just let us pick the game we want to play. This will also have the dual effect of people quitting games less frequently just because they dont want to, or dont have to, play a certain game type. These arent ground breaking changes I’m asking for. I’m literally just asking 343 for the option to choose what game I play, especially if the challenges are dependent upon me playing a specific game mode.

Yeah Infinite would benefit greatly by having a match composer like MCC has. Where in social players can pick between objective, slayers, action sack ect… And even starting weapon type like precision or auto… Maybe one day infinite will have one but unlikely anytime soon. I pretty much only play MCC when it comes to Halo. It’s far superior and more fun to play.

I once again say, challenges should never have been more specific than Play/Win matches, Play/Win (insert PLAYLIST here (not game modes, also exclude ranked)), Get kills, Get kills with (insert damage type/weapon type (no single weapon limits)), Get accumulated score in matches/specified playlist.

Challenges that get too specific, such as the current ones do, force players to play certain ways or gamemodes they dont like. Almost always to the detriment of both their own and their teams enjoyment.

Be careful what you say. People might get offended that youre complaining about the game being “too hard.” According to some, simplifying challenges that are only active for a week is the exact same thing as playing Elden Ring on easy mode

You mad lad? I’ve played 14 games so far and got 7/10 challenges. I’ll finish the last three off tomorrow. It could be done in under of day if it needed to be!

Edit - more interesting challenges would be ‘get a perfection medal in a slayer game - swaps not allowed.’

Then at least the weekly rewards would be worth while.

It’s not the fact that the challenges in Infinite are too hard, it’s that they are just objectively bad in design, Halo Infinites entire challenge system is one big bad joke. MCC got the challenge system near perfect, the fact 343 didn’t learn from that is baffling.

The challenge system is so dumb. Feels outdated. Makes an otherwise great game a chore? I don’t even bother doing them. Makes the game worse in so many ways. Example being people playing just for challenges and throwing matches ect ect.

Change the entire system. It’s pure garbage.

So true! It took me 13 games to complete the mangler challenge because out of 13 games I only got the mangler 2 times. They shouldn’t do specific weapons/ modes that you have no control of. It comes down to luck weather or not you get the weapon or mode you need. So unfair.

I had to swipe away my killing spree challenge, because after 2/4 done i only got into matches against way more skilled players, so it was almost impossible to do. And when i then finaly got a spree of 4, then suddenly the hit reg starts acting up… Infuriating.

343 should realy stop punishing players who go for the challenges by actively stacking the matches against the challenges, it is getting ridiculous. Earlier i already had to get more then 100 matches to get 10 flag returns and 1 stronghold win, because i just did not get those matches or with strongholds a ridiculously one-sided match that was unwinnable in between.

I would honestly be fine dredging through all the busy work that 343 gives us if the ultimate rewards were actually worth all of the effort.

It’s a shame that the only thing theyre willing to give us are emblems that you cant even see and visors that we already own, with an added statix effect (the ultimate reward for this week was literally the default Mk VII visor with static, smh).

Ya the RNG challenges are legit pain in the -Yoink!-. It’s starting to take it’s toll on me especially this tactical ops event challenges. Why can’t you do it like the Fracture Tenrai challenges? Those are super easy to complete and it honestly doesn’t take up that much time to do it. You don’t have to worry about the weapons not spawning you can just pick it off the corpse of your ally or enemy. If you want to continue with these RNG challenges at least give us the option to choose which mode to play. You might think that this one of the best ways to retain players but I can tell you it’s gonna go the other way. I’ve come to a point that I’m super worn out by these challenges and it no longer spark joy for me.

Somebody else said it, but because there are so few maps, and because the maps that we do have are so symmetrical, the way that we play the game is always so much of the same routes and routines. This just makes the burn out happen so much quicker.

Like its understandable that you want your maps to be balanced, but for social playlists, the maps should be fun more than anything. These maps are still fun, but theres so few that they get old so quickly, and it just makes the challenges feel more like a chore, which only highlights everything wrong with the challenges.
