Hey 343, the community has spoken.

Leave the reach playlists as are. The vast overwhelming majority of us agree that the update is a disaster about to happen. Reach has enough population, and will continue to until halo 4 launches. If you cut the dlc playlists a lot of ppl will not buy the halo 4 dlc who otherwise would, and you will lose a lot of our respect. I remember when the community was in an uproar when it was leaked the halo wars dlc had no 3v3 maps, but they actually listened, held back the release, threw together a 3v3 map, and redeemed themselves (and their dlc sales). All you guys have to do is not change anything to earn back our respect. In fact showing you listen to the community will be a great thing in our eyes, encouraging us to invest in things like dlc, because we can know that you got our backs, not stabbing our backs. So, please don’t remove the playlists. plox? plixy plox?

The “vast overwhelming majority” is vastly over exaggerated. The number of people on the forums are an incredibly small percentage of the Halo community as a whole.

The playlist consolidation will continue as planned just like it did in the games before it. It sucks but everyone loses out on something, that’s what happens at the end of a game’s life cycle.

well i was gonna just say majority, but i figured vast overwhelming majority sounded more dramatic. its all about that dramatic flare. the reality is the update is not gona help reach’s population at all. high pop playlists will still get matches in the same amount of time, and those of us who are willing to wait a min or so for dlc or whatever will not be able to.

I agree. Why hurt me like this???

And don’t you think that 343 knows this? Personally, I think they like it this way. If no one comes here (admit it, it’s not a great forum AND people that speak their minds tend to get banned anyway), then 343 doesn’t have to worry about much. They can just do whatever and by the time it happens, it’s too late. Ever wonder why they don’t have pop-up windows in Reach for future updates? It’s because, if they did, then everyone would be on here giving them a piece of their minds. And who at 343 wants to spend a few hours reading through their own forums and getting chewed out?

That is completely false. Everyones opinions and criticism are welcome here, but it’s the way you say them that may or may not lead to banning.

I know many people on here who have voiced their opinions and are not banned. Why? because they do so in a good manner.

I always get the pop-up windows for the Matchmaking updates, including every single one Bungie & 343i did for Reach.

he means updates that are going to happen not what has just happened.

Sorry, I meant pop-ups for updates that they’re GOING to implement, not the ones that show up after the fact.

Oh that, no-one gets that

Ahhh, well they always do have the website open for feedback, if enough people actually come here to suggest it, and the numbers 343i get on the backend support it, like the removal of a map because it is bad and the number of people playing it is low, it will likely be removed.

Exactly my point. It’s because they don’t exist.
Imagine for a moment that 343 gave a week’s notice in-game about these Matchmaking updates. If people saw a pop-up on Reach about this update before it comes out, they’d flip. Many of them would be all over these forums complaining and asking 343 to keep the playlists.

This is only a small fraction of the community as well, I would have no idea how the rest of the player-base will react. That being said, Waypoint is the place you should go to get the latest on updates and whatnot.

We’ll see what happens then we can see how the community reacts. I’m not a fan of this update either (Becuase Anniversary BTB is out) but I will still play Reach when I want to (Because alot of my time is spent in Team Slayer and Super Slayer amongst others).

Is that so? Well, I like the update.

Firstly, they said the playlist updates would happen and since we are getting close to Halo 4, its about time they consolidated the playlists. Secondly, they’ve been talking about the playlists they will be launching with, you figured this wasn’t going to happen? And lastly, these forums exist so we can come on, voice our concerns, and be informed more then the Xbox game portion of this community. You think players online want to be informed of ten thousand updates and ideas 343 is thinking up right now? They don’t care. As long as they have a gametype they like, a reason to play, and something further to enjoy they don’t care. Some players just want to play Halo. Not get involved with the politics, not get involved on this level, and certainly to not jump on their computer and type up a 7,000 character response to what they like and dislike about Reach or its updates.

Playlists are getting consolidated. Get used to it and enjoy what is given to you…

> Firstly, they said the playlist updates would happen and since we are getting close to Halo 4, its about time they consolidated the playlists.

What i don’t understand is why do they need to just cut the playlists? all 3 dlc playlists that they are cutting have pop of about 2000 when combined, that’s not gonna add enough to other playlists to cut down match times, which are fine for the populated playlists (ex team slayer or infection). Halo 4 may be in a few months but population isn’t gonna drop much anytime before november 6. What do we gain from cutting them? Since we paid for the maps, we should have the option to play.

It allows for more focus on H4 now instead of having to take time off at release, or afterwards, to do it.

> It allows for more focus on H4 now instead of having to take time off at release, or afterwards, to do it.

do they have to work to keep up playlists? seems to me like just cutting them would take more time then leaving them alone, and especially now that their still working on halo 4.
