Considering we’ve been asking about when they’re going to add missing gametypes like infection and oddball etc since before the game launched, and they have yet to provide any response, I’ve been wondering why. I’ve deduced that the problem can’t be their lack of communication, but rather that we’re not being clear enough.
Now you might be thinking “that’s ridiculous, look how many topics have been made.”
These are just from the first few pages of searching for just “infection”.
But I have to give 343 the benefit of the doubt, because ignoring your community after gutting a good portion of the halo package and sweeping it under the rug would just be disgusting. Right? So we just have to be more vocal.
I think with Forge coming in December it will bring a lot of the gametypes people have been waiting for. I could be wrong, but it would seem weird for me to not include all of the forge options when they have already delayed forge from the initial release

Fantastic. But some of the most popular gametypes are missing from the game entirely, and they have yet to address why or if they will return as custom game options.

And the problem is that right there. We have to assume they will, because it would only make sense. But we have to assume because 343 doesn’t communicate about the issue.

The point must have gone over your head. It’s not that they need to address every post, they only need to communicate about the issue. Then there wouldn’t need to be so many posts. Get it?

And their lengthy blog posts about consistent post-launch support, numerous direct references to things said on the forum, and known content on the way isn’t communicating about things to come?

Did any of this confirm whether we will or will not be getting specific gametypes back and when? I don’t care about vague comments about vague content coming at some vague point. It is not hard to answer the community either with a “yes we know infection/oddball/KOTH aren’t in the game, but they will be soon” or a “-Yoink- you guys we’re not giving you your gametypes”.

You seem to be under the impression that gametypes were only in the game because Forge allowed you to edit them. No, Forge allowed you to edit them because they were in the game. Gametypes can be used in Forge, but they’re still independant features. Don’t assume we’re getting them in any specific update unless 343 says otherwise and, at this point, if they haven’t said it’ll come along side Forge then it almost definitely won’t be.

Saying, “we’re working on stuff” is meaningless the to average person because that could mean anything. All they have to do is say, “we hear your concerns about Infection, Oddball, etc and we are working on it”. Done. It’s that simple.

“Yes ______, _____, ______, & ______ playlists are coming”
Or “no, they’re not”
Is it too much to ask for them to just say if infection, oddball, etc are coming or not? With the game’s staggering lack of content in its current state, you would think they would be more forthcoming with details about what’s coming.
Instead they are being vague. I have a bad feeling that it’s because a lot of game types aren’t returning but they just don’t want to confirm it for everyone.

Let’s be honest, if they’re not coming, 343 won’t say anything. Not that that’s an unexpected thing to do.

Exactly. This is most likely the case. If they had good news odds are they would be making more of an effort to communicate. But since they’re essentially trying to sweep the issue under the rug, I wouldn’t expect a satisfactory solution.
