Hey 343, how about a divorce. It is time to stop all the infighting and bickering. And just move on. Let’s just go ahead and separate the halo community into two separate groups with two games instead of us all fighting over one. How about one multiplayer game modeled after old-school halo 2,3. With no game changes, just new graphics and maps( that’s all we really wanted in the first place), and one game with all the crazy cod like abilities you can dream up. This way you will have 2 games to sell instead of one, and we can play the one we choose instead of fighting for two years to get the game we want only to be disappointed over and over again.
We already have that game, it’s called Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

A wonderful game indeed. Though it is still not working right. I would be more then happy just to settle with it once it is fixed. I would even be willing to pay for more map packages to those games.
The fact is if they wanted to make a new franchise to cater to 14 year olds and keep them playing into their 20s… they should have started a new franchise. Hell give halo 5 a different name.
Halo should have been Halo and kept how us original gamers like it. I’d wager a game like that would outlast and outperform this new crap they’ve come up with. Face it. If you loved Halo 2 and 3 and pre ordered those games and enjoyed hours of entertainment… this is not the place for you. 343 doesn’t want us around any more. Time to move on.

Or you know maybe their trying to get new people to play Halo? They’re trying to cater to other players who haven’t played Halo before and get them to play. That’s what every gaming company does. They can’t cater to just a select people. That’d be like opening up a restaurant that’s only open to people from Italy. Will it make money? Maybe. Will it be super profitable? Probably not. The same goes for Halo. Halo not only has to cater to Halo fans, but to everybody else.

As for your idea it’s almost perfect. I wouldn’t necessarily split the Halo community into two games, but rather by two separate playlists. If you haven’t noticed all anybody seems to bicker about is the multiplayer. Forget the fact that there’s a campaign involved in the game with a plot that we still don’t know much about yet. It seems people are caring less and less about the campaign and more about the multiplayer. Anyway I’ve had the exact same thought of splitting the community into two, but instead through multiplayer playlists. Building two separate games, then selling them as two different games would be less profitable. It would cost more to build two separate games then it would to create one. The multiplayer playlists would be divided into two: classic and new. The classic playlists won’t have anything post Halo 2. The new weapons will still be in their, but features such as armor abilities, Spartan abilities, loadouts, and sprint would be disabled. The new playlists would be everything that was added in Halo 5 with zero changes made.

Us old timers… I’m sure I’m not the only player who has played from the very start that doesn’t really care about Halo changing. For pete’s sake it’s 500 years into the future! Humanity has already invented the ability to travel at the speed of light, but apparently no one would have invented jetpacks and super soldiers that as children were capable of killing 3 people with their bare hands wouldn’t be able to sprint? What logic is this? If you really want a game like Halo 2 (and by that you mean multiplayer not a game, otherwise you’d be talking about the campaign as well) then request Halo 5 puts in a “classic playlists”: A playlist in which there are no armor abilities, Spartan abilities, loadouts, or sprint. It would be just like it was in Halo 2. You can keep all the new weapons that they added in, but just nothing post Halo 2. You definitely have a bunch of people that want the same things you want, but you also have people such as me who really don’t care and think the Halo 5 beta for the most part is good where it is. I don’t think 343 Industries is going to make a whole new game all of a sudden because people want multiplayer the way it used to be. Just request a playlist. It’s a lot easier to add into the game than creating a new game and they’re always adding in playlists. I see no reason why anybody would object to a “classic playlist”
sigh
We just need to stop arguing and find a compromise that will keep the game’s design, but at the same time please fans who want change
no one will ever make 2004 game like halo 2 in 2015 they will make a 2015 game which sadly is a halo cod cross breed

ok here is a compromise just have setting for all the changes like perks loadots smart scope ext setting you can them off or on (on means you can use loadouts and what not (off means the old style of halo)
Get this troll thread out of here and put it in the halo 5 section, moderators! In that section, the trolls can bicker and complain all they want! Stop trying to corrupt another forum section, you’ve already ruined the halo MCC and halo 5 sections of this forum.

2 things
This doesn’t look like a troll thread
OP doesn’t seem to have to do with halo 5

Old school would be Halo CE-2,FYI
> Halo should have been Halo and kept how us original gamers like it. I’d wager a game like that would outlast and outperform this new crap they’ve come up with
I love hearing this as a CE veteran that doesn’t mind the new games. The reason they changed to start with was due to bungie catering while the formula shouldn’t have been touched. Not to mention the market is filled with shooter games unlike the era of CE-3.
So that makes the latter statement void.

If it’s not troll…I…shrugs and walks out
There’s no need to segregate the community that much. Just create two separate playlists in the same game, with one being heavily modernized with features like sprint/SAs and the other involving class Halo gameplay without SAs and stuff. That’s the only way that everybody will be appeased.
The only problem that this creates is that they’ll have to create different kind of maps because of the requirements of sprint. They would also have to blend the classic gameplay with the newer weapons, making sure that they’re compatible. It might take a lot of effort, but it’s the only way that every Halo fan will be happy.

Nice straw man bruh. You can also say that sprint doesn’t make sense since a super soldier should be able to run with his gun up so 125% Base Player speed is better.

Nice “straw man” comment bruh. Haven’t heard that a thousand times before.
Ive played halo since Halo CE: on the original xbox, and I have also played the new 343 games. H4 and H5 are different, but its a refreshing change.
