Heretics 343, Heretics!

I just finished the new episode of spartan ops and I was excited when I discovered that it was going to be held primarily on Infinity. Why you ask? Because this WOULD OF BEEN a prime oppurtunity to throw a heretic or two into the spartan op mix. For those who are unfamiliar with what heretics are, heretics are covenant elites whom use human weapons and more importantly, VEHICLES. minor spoiler alert When the two lifts were down at the very end of the last chapter of the new episode I honestly thought this was the time 343 was going to throw in a heretic driving a scorpion tank or two when the lifts came back up. The lack there of replaced my original feeling of excetement to disappointment. Pleae please PLEASE 343… PLEASE throw heretics into the next episode somewhere. I would be satisfied with ONE heretic driving ONE scorpion, JUST ONE! If only to make up for the fact that if you die before your ALREADY DROPPED grenade goes off and destroys a scorpion in multiplayer matchmaking, it simply doesn’t count. I’m sure this minor task wouldn’t be too difficult for you, and frankly, if you do this… it would make at least some of us very happy.

thanx for listening… if you actually are :).

The Neo Covenant (my name for 'em) are a bunch of religious zealots who still cling to the old ways. They will use Promethean weapons allegedly and I saw one use a human turret, but they have no real need to use human weapons most of the time.

This thread is complete heresy! The Elites would never stoop so low as to use the puny human weapons!

They all have Fuel Rod Cannons anyway.

I’m still bitter at the point of all that UNSC gear lying around and never seeing the Covenant use it once.

They keep Scorpion Tanks and don’t use them, same with the truck loads of UNSC weapons they have.

If they didn’t plan on using them, why didn’t the Covenant just destroy them? Why else keep an armory of enemy weapons you never plan to use?

The last part in the last mission only had 3 hunters in it. 3. Am I the only person mad about this?

studying, the best method to protect yourself against the enemy is to research what they throw at you, if they can study the shell from a scorpion, they can make their wraiths better armour to defend against it

Even then some Covies are so overzealous to the point of prefering no fight unhanded and die than pick up a primitive human weapon.

In the last chapter I actually encountered an Elite using a Human turret, and 3 holding Scattershots.
That being said, it would have been nice to see them scripted use some UNSC ordnance.

I know what ur saying there aren’t enough enemy scorpions in matchmaking so that is one of the harder vehicle commendations to get.

When I played it was 6 or 8. I saw 3 to begin with and then there was more.

Did you notice that one elite using a Scattershot?

Yeah, I ran into one at the very end that was using a scattershot, and earlier, one hopped onto a human turret.

Kinda silly when most of the Generals in this set of Spartan Ops were using PLASMA PISTOLS… cmon… really?

I saw a couple using Scattershots. It was terrifying. :frowning:

Well people complained about them all using fuel rod cannons lol.So 343 said fine, and gave them PP’s in a lame attempt to troll.

If i worked at 343, after seeing everyone complain so much i would have gave the elite generals dual wield fuel rods and have them fire them in rapid succession without pause and then laughed at the whiners without pause buhahaha, but thats just me.

Sadly 343 lacks the ability to properly troll like a awesome game developer, though they have tryed, boltshot is evidence of this, and yes they could have fixed it a couple weeks after release along with other small fixes. Not really sure what they are doing … owell.

Side not:There was allot of other things i could of said but most of it would of gotten me suspended by a moderator lol.

So I wasn’t imagining things, there were Elites using Scattershots. I never actually saw Elites using them, but a few times, we finished clearing out a room/hall of enemies and I stumbled across a Scattershot. At the time, I guess I just assumed they had been dropped by teammates who had died or picked up another weapon.

I can also confirm the Elite using the human turret.

Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope…

Encountered one Elite using a Light Rifle it appeared like, and they pick up Scattershots pretty often as well, and use Machine Guns very often.

It is possible this upcoming Episode will have some Heretic like Elite’s in it since this Episode was pretty amazing. I do think they mostly are attempting to truly study our technology for the most part and perhaps making their own weapons out of it, similar to how they reverse engineered Forerunner technology.

Yeah when I played through it first time on Legendary there was 8 Hunters, then played through it on Heroic and there were 6, not sure where they are getting the 3 from.

I think they might come up 3 at a time, not all at once. Can’t really say for sure, as I was trying too hard not to die at that point.
